Sara smile

From a reader:
My name is Sara. I have been weird and not so normal all my life. When I was little my dad was physically abusive if we did the wrong things but I quickly adapted to this so while my siblings got beaten I was spared because I always knew what to say or do. I learned at a young age that no one else but me could give me the answers that I needed or help me if I needed something. Me and only me was my way of life.

I used to manipulate my siblings into being my slaves and do chores for me. I'd lie a lot but as soon as I discovered that you lose credibility and future opportunities to manipulate I stopped.

I tortured cats, chicks, and dogs. I once left a cat insides box for a week feeding it only sporadically because the stupid cat wouldn't stay put and I hate when small little things don't do as I say.

I am now 24 yrs old and very manipulative. Ex. I use sex or sexual attraction to play with men.. They don't have feelings anyway. I once cheated on my fiancé by sleeping with a stranger at 8pm, then sleeping with a state trooper at 10pm then going home and kissing my fiancé good night as if nothing ever happened.

I'm doing the same thing again.. I tell my husband "I will never hurt you" and in my mind I'm making plans to meet with this other man.

I've thought about doing bad things and the only thing that stops me is jail. Honestly who wants to be trapped? Just do what you can get away with...after all being an innocent cute girl works better on people.

I have a BA in psychology and I fucking love my Job at a psychiatric hospital. I can finally feel at home.

Thoughts?? Would you post this? Oh and I somehow enjoy it when people talk about me.

  3. Interesting! Are you a diagnosed Antisocial? I dated a girl who was but she was pretty cruel, had pretty much the same habits as you (no offense). But what I dont understand is if you want to sleep around with men than why be in a "relationship" at all? As the Great Hervey Cleckley would say " He is your boyfriend/husband in name only"

Do you ever feel bad for cheating or manipulating him?

Honestly, how would you feel if you figured out he slept with 2 women and than came home and kissed you?

PS- Iam an Empath. But iam NOT against sociopaths, iam only against people who purposely hurt others and get some twisted satisfaction from it. I treat people with the respect that I would like to be treated with.

I sort of said yes, but then felt pressured. I told her superior that she should realize I aM a PaTIENT goddammit !!!! I felt she was using me to get her job done. But I had sort of agreed .

I had her transferred to another floor, I think. I didn't know that would happen. I didn't like her. I Was indeed carazay. But she overstepped a line with me.

  31. (I have bad grammar I get it. I didn't study in the U.S.A.)I'm the process of learning English and grammar is one of my weak points.

    Anyway..

I wish my story was made up but it's not. I ended up getting divorced a divorce, and to be honest i only cried for 5 minutes the morning after he left. Why did i cry? i don't know. I started dating a 37 year old man, and i really tried me best to accommodate to him, only to find out that he had been cheating on me the entire time! I guess karma is a bitch. What surprised me the most was that i didn't feel anything, no tears, no anger, no broken heart.. NOTHING.

I'm still seeing him but i know our clock is ticking..
I already know i will never be faithful to him,
I already know that i will break his heart,
I already know that i could never love somebody and that is the only thing in my life that actually disturbs me.

You know what surprises me the most? is that people think i am this nice, beautiful, charming, and loving woman even when i confess everything to them.

  52. I see what "Sara" is doing. "She" is trying to build rapport so she can get others to self incriminate. I dont normally offer help to socios but in this case use ur noodle peeps and check your egos. It is probably a cyber cop. That would explain the terrible grammar lol.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am trying to figure out the trait in sociopaths that they do not learn from their mistakes. I have not learned from my mistakes, either. What prevents it? The person must be lost in his own distorted world, to the degree where he cannot actually see what is really happening. In his head, the same script must play over and over. Reality must not touch it. I know that I, as a co-dep, have lived like this for a long time, myself.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Can't cosign the animal abuse shit. Its not the watermark for being a sociopath.

    ReplyDelete
  55. My friend's dog had 4 puppies.. My friend would dip them in water and put them in the freezer for a few seconds just because. He'd also cover their nostrils and mouth to see them fight for their lives. He'd also submerge them in water just to see how long they lasted. This was a while back and in South America where they don't care about people much less about animals).

Then he stopped.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I got this PD think on my mind. I think PD's can't learn because they are too black and white in their thinking, too concrete. Emotionally, people with PD's are simple, like a black and white photo, not complex like an Impressionistic painting. What do you, all, think?

  76. Monica rocks, Eden. You can't compete. Just kiss her feet and be done with it ha ha

    ReplyDelete
  77. @Anon... "Probably a beeper."

Definitely not. No abandonment issues unless she's overcompensating for an expected outcome. Unless she's in a deep empathic dissociation because she's so afraid to commit for fear letting someone close would expose her inner self to being vulnerable, and therefore open to being abandoned/humiliated/taken advantage of/etc... probably not BPD.

  80. Tentatively I'd say Sara is simply a victim of abuse. And like many victims of abuse, as they grow, they eventually self-identify with the abuser that traumatized them in youth. It's rather common for someone to become ensared in the cycle of violence that comes with living with abuse.

  87. Eden, Monica may, just, have something worthwhile to say. Ever think of that?

    ReplyDelete
  88. No Stolkholm Syndrome is when you sympathize with your abuser and mistake a lack of a abuse as an act of kindness. Victims of abuse may always hate the person that abused them in youth/childhood but because the ‘lessons’ and treatment were so ingrained in their upbringing they may have internalized the behavior. So with, or without, realizing it they often begin to display the attitudes of the abuser that had such an influence on their formative years. It could also be as a reaction to being a victim. By becoming the abuser it’s a way to regain power and control in adulthood where they did not have it in childhood.

  90. to be diagnosed a sociopath, the traits must be extreme. david, it's obvious that you have empathy, because you are outraged at people taking advantage of the vulnerable.

for callous lack of empathy, you'd get scored as a zero.

    ReplyDelete
  91. @ David there has to be a reason that PD's don't learn and "normal" people do.
It is emotional, not intellectual. It is not a factor based on IQ. It must be some kind of emotional denseness due to being blocked. What else could it be?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Caroline, there are plenty of non-PD, "normal", people that don't learn from their mistakes. It's not just a PD thing, or even a PD thing at all.

I learn from my mistakes quite well. It all depends on the severity and situation. I guarantee you there are plenty of mistakes I will never make again. Others kind of creep up on you and you can't necessarily spot them right away. Though frankly, depending on my emotional state I do have an uncanny ability to ignore the glaring warnings that I pick up. It's not that I haven't learned from my mistakes, I have, there just happens to be something else that appeals to me enough to risk it. Maybe it's impulse.

    ReplyDelete
  93. 'By becoming the abuser it’s a way to regain power and control in adulthood where they did not have it in childhood'

Well that is how you learn to manipulate, from watching others.

You can't just be born a skilled manipulator. The majority of people who are raised in abusive homes, will grow up to despise abusers, or will have codependency issues, a very small amount lose their empathy and become abusers themselves.

Narcissists usually have a narcissist as a parent, that they have emulated.

    ReplyDelete
  94. You can't take the impulsiveness out of a sociopath. The whole essence of impulsiveness, is to not be able to quell the impulse.

  124. @David This is my working theory.
When you have a PD, you are not in proper touch with your own emotions. As such, you are not in touch with actual reality i.e. what is happening inside you and around you. One cannot learn how to function in life well, when one does not know what is happening with oneself and others, emotionally, due to ones own deficits.

This would apply to all the PDs--- Co-dep, BPD, ASPD etc

The degree with which one is out of touch with one's emotions will vary in the various PDs .

  152. Not all clinicians differentiate between psychopaths and socios. There is no benchmark that is accepted universally. Sociopath is often preferable simply because the "psycho" part confuses the lay folk into associating with psychosis and "insanity". It is mainly helpful for jurors so they arent tempted to excuse behaviors due to incorrect concepts of psychopaths being psychotic.

For those who do distinguish between the two:

Sociopath accidentally hits someone with their car and coldly keeps on driving.

Psychopath accidentally hits someone with their car. They coldly stop and throw it into reverse and maybe let out a little giggle as they feel the bump as they run him over again.

  153. What you just did was empathize, David.

    David:
"But the butchery beheadings always upset me as I wouldn't wanne die that way because it' so humiliating."

    Empathy:
the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another.

  157. Or the psychopath may get out and feign concern for the victim so they can see the look of hope and fear in their eyes right before he bashes their skull in.

    ReplyDelete
  158. That's not being grossed out that's identifying with the victims feelings.

  159. What if you are grossed out by humans in general like germy bags of flesh?

  166. I was walking through Barnes and Noble the other day. I, of course, had to see if there was any new literature on psychopathy, my most favourite mental condition. While there, I saw rows and rows of over-priced books teaching the poor potential victims how to evade, escape, and expose their friendly, neighbourhood psychopath. And Sam Vaknin. It saddened me somewhat. So... Psychopaths, sociopaths, and normies... How would you feel if I or some other well-meaning individual wrote a book about psychopathy from the perspective of a psychopath?

  168. Not necessarily empathy.

He might just have some old-school notion of being virtuous and being seen as such. Decorum! Civilized! European! Class!

It might be more of a narc thing than an empathy thing.

  169. Sara, the girl who threw the puppies into the river didn't seem full of rage to me. It's been a while since I saw that one though. She seemed fine from what I recall.

Videos of beheadings make me itch. Not literally, but that was the best way to describe my reaction. I remember having a sudden urge to scratch my neck. Empathy? Sympathy? Who knows. Who cares.

And apropos of nothing, I'm a fan of Mariah Carey's breasts.

  171. If you feel outraged by a cat being tortured, you are feeling empathy.

If your child cries and you genuinely comfort it, then you are feeling empathy.

  173. Then why did you get angry when they guy told you he was abusing his staff?

  174. "If you feel outraged by a cat being tortured, you are feeling empathy."

    *buzzer*

Wrong. If you feel outraged, you feel outraged. Duh.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I respectfully disagree, Anonymous. I could feel outraged simply because it was my cat. I don't like my possessions getting broken by some malicious person any more than Johnny Normal. But I would never feel that for a cat, because I don't like cats, nor do I have any. Unless it's a kitten. Kittens, maybe.

To comfort is an action. Genuine comfort implies that it is an action which does not seek to manipulate for nefarious purposes. I can give my children genuine comfort without sharing their emotions.

and what makes this statement different than the statement of any other empath?

one cannot compare a pet to an ipod, or a car. an ipod and a car are actually useful. what the hell can you do with a pet?

  179. Wait so sociopaths have emotions they are just shallow and not every sociopath is the same exactly just like serial killers differ?

    Eat it.

Not all sociopaths are created equal.

  181. It's egocentric.

Cat's, nothing, which is why I don't like them. Dogs, on the other hand, can be quite useful, and they are good company. So are wives and children, occasionally.

  184. Anonymous,

Yes, psychopaths can and do have emotions. A psychopath's true emotions are simply short-lived and egocentric.

let's imagine you had a chance at becoming filthy rich, providing you opened up a store in china were they sell kittens to be consumed.

On a trip to your slaughter factory, you examine one of the many machines, were the kittens simultaneously have their throat sliced while still conscious.

Are you telling me that you would actually feel disgust, and not have anything to do with this food product? That's the vibe I'm getting. Personally, I'd only see the money. I wouldn't care about the animals.
