Guest song: Valley of the Dolls

In the Valley of the Dolls we sleep, we sleep.
Got a hole inside of me, of me.
Gone with a boy, hard to destroy with love, oh.
Built with a heart broken from the start, and now I die slow.

In the Valley of the Dolls we sleep.
Got a hole inside of me.
Living with identities, that do not belong to me.
In my life I got this far, now I'm ready for my last hurrah.
Dying like a shooting star.
In the Valley (x3)

Pick a personality for free.
When you feel like nobody, body.

Back to zero, here we go again, again.
Racin' down into oblivion.
Back to zero, here we go.
I can feel it comin' to the end, the end.

In the Valley of the Dolls we sleep.
Got a hole inside of me.
Living with identities, that do not belong to me.
In my life I got this far, now I'm ready for my last hurrah.
Dying like a shooting star.
In the Valley (x3)

  4. Good Morning Rich :D

I had a dream. A sheriff came to arrest me because I did not respond to a summons. I have papers everywhere, so it must have been under something.

He came in the morning, when I was in my short nightgown and dirty, fluffy pink slippers. He told me I had to come like that. He was talking to me in an accusatory voice. I talked back and argued, until I realized that he could not hear me. He was like on a loop.

I will be back. I got interrupted.

  5. He took me to a mall, on the way to the squad car. People looked at me like I was lower than low. Then, we walked outside, to the squad car. I felt the cool air on my face. I realized that I do not feel anything like this, in my regular life. I am oblivious. The air felt cool and stinging, in a marvelous way.

I rode in the back seat of the car to the jail. He put me in a small cottage, which was all bedroom. There were two windows looking out to trees. I appreciated the trees and appreciated the view, so much, unlike my real like, when I don't appreciate anything.

I had a cell phone, but never thought to call anyone to help, even though that is what people do when they are in jail. I, probably, would have been let out right away. Silly me.

    2. Interesting dream Monica...... I have to ask, have you ever been arrested before?

I have had dreams of being arrested but I have been arrested before so I thought maybe it was kinda normal to have a dream like that, but if somebody hasnt been arrested and had a dream like that, I find that kind of odd.......

Also, Do you usually wear a nightgown and fluffy pink slippers when you go to bed? LOL! That made me laugh when I read it!

      Delete
    3. this is my interpretation..

the you in dirty pink slippers is you as you are, the true you. the true you is able to feel and marvel at what it feels.

the sheriff shows you that others look down on you before taking you to jail. the sheriff is both keeping you in jail from the world and keeping you safe from it. why would you call out to the world, using your cell phone, when the world looks down on you?

he sheriff is the part of you that keeps you safe, but the sheriff also keeps you in prison. to feel more you have to leave the jail, which means leaving safety.

      it's a good dream.

      Delete
    4. clarification: the sheriff shows you that others look down on you as you really are, wearing your dirty pink slippers, to justify putting you in prison.

      Delete
    5. maybe the people only looked down on you because of the sheriff's attitude?

      Delete
    6. you wrote the sheriff was on a loop and couldn't hear you. Isn't that like the logical mind going on and on in circles and trying to understand, but getting nowhere because it isn't listening to the feelings, only policing them, and the feelings are trying to help?

      Delete
    7. The sheriff talking in a loop and my arguing was all the people who talk AT me, with no intention of listening. I need to shut up and let them talk because they are like a recorded loop.

    10. LOL Thats funny!!!! My mama has some fluffy pink slippers for cold days!!!! I used to have a pair of blue ones but I dont know what happened to them :(

LOL Zoe!!!!!! I got cats too! Recently one just showed up at my door and we have been feeding him and taking care of him..... Sometimes I brig him inside my room and close the door so my other cats wont want to fight him over terratory. When my brother used to lived with us we turned the garage into a bedroom complete with a nice TV and a big bed and when it has been really cold at night lately (It dosent get too cold I live in Florida) I bring the new cat in and keep him in the garage so he stays warm...... I keep a light on for him and put food and water and a litter box out there and he just sleeps on the bed...... He is so cute but he's big! He is definatly domesticated, I think somebody moved away and left him or he got lost from his home or something because he is fully grown and very friendly to humans and loves being petted.

    12. The sheriff could represent the part of you that is critical of who you are and your behavior. Being a representative of law and order it could be the voice of conscience or a punitive parental part of you.The part of you that tells you what you should and shouldn't do.

You were in trouble for not responding to a summons. A summons being a call to answer for bad behavior or defend against an accusation of it. This would add to the interpretation of this dream being about how you are feeling about yourself with regard to something.

That you were dressed in your nightgown could represent that this is about the person you feel you are underneath the disguise of your usual day to day appearance that you present to the world. You were exposed as who you are without those trappings. That the jail was all bedroom is interesting. Perhaps an indication that the issue provoking all of this is somehow sexual in nature.

    2. A big theme of it is about giving up my power. I lost the summons from not ordering my life i.e abdicating my power. That allowed the sheriff to come in and take me. I had on no mask with the nightgown and dirty slippers. People thought I was low, but I didn't mind too much. That may be SW and writing on here.

    3. I understnd this, Monica,

Being here is almost like when you see the ocd hoaders on tv, and the therapist doing "exposure" to the things standing in the way.
Every time, the therapist asks what is the level of the hoarder's anxiety when throwing stuff away. The levels go down. They are becoming more immune.

Harshness of people, (or the perceptions of harshness) here has been helpful to me.

I am assuming Monica and i am not alone, hmm?

  7. Wow Zoe Thank you for those ideas. If you have more, please let me know. One thing I did not share was that when people looked down on me, I didn't really care and that was kind of weird to me. I felt kind of immune. Would that fit anywhere, that you can see.

I am going to meditate on your thoughts!

    1. i had a similar dream except there was no jail. i had a parasitic twin that i kept covered up because i felt she was too much of a freak to show to the world. the world would never have understood. i felt bad for her but the twin was okay with that and enjoyed listening to what went on around her, just experiencing.

i realized a long time later that the twin was a higher self, or enlightened self if you will, that i kept suppressed because i thought showing that side of me wasn't normal and made me a freak.

maybe it was a spiritual dream for you? more than just connecting to who you were before you went numb, but connecting to the highest part of you?

      Delete
    2. i mean i believe that on some level that's what we're all after whether we consciously know it or not. after the food, shelter and basics are taken care of then we can turn to that other feeling of unease, that wondering about what's happening, what it's all about. how did we get here?

  8. If you told me your dream with no interpretation, I would have come to something like that. It seems people can interpret our dreams better than we can, sometimes. I am still not sure about the middle of my dream. I could feel when all I had was nothing and I was a prisoner, but in my real life when I have everything, I can't feel. That part is foggy for me.

    1. or it takes them less time. i like to always look at the big picture as well as the details in life. in other words, what drives us to want to feel? you are religious, spiritual. i'm not sure it's possible to separate the two and deal with them separately.

if you're numb to feelings and experience then you're numb to your higher self, the enlightenment part, the part of you in a state of grace. it is perfect the way it is and needs or wants nothing. looking at it that way it's up to the sheriff to choose to let her out. the sheriff has to want it.

messiness is not a crime, but sort of seen as one. the part of me that feels and experiences could care less about ordering my life. she likes the chaos.

      :-)

    2. isn't it just foggy for you because the part of you that feels is being kept in prison. it seems logical that in your real life you can't feel. the part of you that feels is trying to talk to you through the dream maybe?

    4. If you told me your dream with no interpretation, I would have come to something like that. It seems people can interpret our dreams better than we can, sometimes.

i took it at face value, that the dream was confirming that there was this part of me that was freakish, monstrous, that had to be kept hidden from the world because the world wouldn't have understood. it was much later that i realized it was me judging this part of me to be a freak. the freak didn't really exist.

You gave me the missing piece. I thought the sheriff took my power, but I gave it up, to be accepted. No one took it. My inner self/ugly, natural self can feel but I give it up for social acceptance BUT when i was walking all dirty and messy and not caring, it felt wonderful.

You guys are the absolute best!

    10. "I think he was people external to me who want to fit me in their box."

I agree. I think your dream is saying that you've become more untouchable (i.e. more comfortable and safe in your own skin), no matter what your physical confinement.

Your physical world may be small, but your imagination is large.

    1. it's a lot of what i think about. i'm pretty organized to the point of being ocd about it. but that opens up long moments of free time where i can feel and breathe and be messy, without adding stress to the ocd part of me which only serves and lives for the free time anyway.

it's as if society is a vice that we're caught in and it just keeps squeezing harder, giving us less and less space to move around in freely, less down time. all the toys and devices and crap we're brainwashed into needing just suck up our free time, the time for just being. there is no space left for awareness, pure being. and when it flickers we feel guilt and immediately extinguish it. we call it a psychological problem, but get the problem backwards. crazy. or is it just me?

but i'm pontificating... i guess i want to go back to the days before television where we sat around a fire, stared at the moon, and used leaves for toilet paper. :-)

I love weed but havent been smoking because iam looking for work and now I get methadone takehomes 2 days a week so I dont gotta go to the clinic daily to dose.

I dont regret using but I regret going as far into drugs as I have.......

    7. Could you explain to me pls, how withdrawal symptoms feel like in general? or at least opiate withdrawal symptoms.

      Delete
    8. INTERESTING MyMind!!!!! We have A LOT in common!!!!!

Ive never heard of Tillidin but I looked it up and it said its very popular in Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium, Do you live in one of those places?

I find it interesting that in Germany it is mixed with Naloxone (An opiate antagonist, basically if you overdose they shoot you up with Naloxone and you come out of the overdose) It kinda sounds like our version of "Suboxone" in the USA, but suboxone is a drug called Buprenorphine (which I know is VERY popular in europe) mixed with Naloxone....... It is one part naloxone and 4 parts buprenorphine, (example, an 8mg tablet or strip of Buprenorphine in the USA will have 2 mg's of Naloxone in it)....

Have you ever tried Buprenorphine????? Here it is very popluar as a detox medication..... We get 4 mg talbets or strips of Buprenorphine with 0.5mg of naloxone in it and 8mg tablets or strips of buprenorphine with 2mg's of naloxone in it...... See, Nalaone isint active orally or sublingually (under the tounge) and Suboxone is meant to be taken under the tounge....... It is prescribed for addicts to wean off their opiate of choice and since it isint active sublingually (the naloxone), it is active when you inject it, so it is in the suboxone strips and pills to discourage IV usage of it.......

But Buprenorphine is VERY STRONG, its about 40X more potent than morphine, which means 40mg's of morphine will equal 1mg of Buprenorphine......

      Delete
    9. Sure myMind, I will explain..... Opaite withdrawal is almost the exact opposite of an opiate high but WAY WORSE......

For me, I start feeling hot/cold flashes and SEVERELY VOMITING, by that I mean vomiting about 4 times per hour or more..... Also all of your bones and joints in your body ache and have severe pain, ESPECIALLY YOUR BACK, your back gets in severe pain and you will do anything to stop the feeling of pain, vomiting and hot.cold flashes....... Also, insomnia comes with it, so ON TOP of your opiate withdrawal, you cant sleep, which leads to you being awake THE ENTIRE TIME, throguh your opiate withdrawals (which only makes it more painful and torturious for you). You also get lots of diarreah......... You cannot handle noises or light, which leads you to sit in a very dark room, under your covers, and with the tv show/movie you are watching (if you are even well enough to watch one) on the LOWEST POSSIBLE VOLUME you can handle.......
At that point you sit it out until you can get more opiates for relief and the second you can take them, you do, which relieves all withdrawal symptoms, but every withdrawal, is worse than the last one and it just gets worse and wosre until you either keep usiong and die from overdose, get on methadone maintenance (like I did) or get on suboxone or subutex to try to wean yourself off at home on an outpatient basis, but based on my experience and experiences of friends, suboxone detoxes basically just hold themover til their next binge the inly good results Ive seen is when they stay on it for long periods of time and thus become addicted to Buprenorphine.......

Opiate/opioid addiction is the worst thing on earth and no fun, once you are too deep into it there are only a few options/ suboxone/methadone maintenance, prison, or death, there is no cold turkey at that point for addicts, unless they are locked up in jail or prison.........

      Delete
    10. yeah, i live in germany, for about 19years now.

i know all that stuff, and am not a big fan of opiates. i take tillidin because it's always available to me, it doesn't hit too hard and because it's more interesting than boredom.

nope, i never tryed buprenorphine, and i do not think that i ever will.
i have some rules regarding drug consume.

but i tryed benzodiazepines, like tetrazepam and diazepam. you should really check out tetrazepam, its easy to get and is veeeery relaxing, you'll feel like there's no gravity.

      Delete
    11. Wow, that really sounds painfull. thx for your explanation.
I "should" be addicted to at least 2 substances, but i am not. i have never felt anything, that comes near to any withdrawal symptoms i know about.

And the only reason why i am doing drugs is, that i am bored.

      Delete
    12. I feel you, MyMind. I am so fucking bored all the time.

      Delete
    13. Very interesting MyMind, thank you for being so candid...... I have never heard of Tetrazepam...... But Iam prescribed to 2 different benzodiazepines everyday...... Iam prescribed to 2mg's of Alprazolam (xanax) per day and iam perscribed 30mg's of Temazepam per day (It's called Restoril In the USA)....

Iam also on Methadone Maintenance, I take 110mg's of methadone per day.... BUT I TAKE RACEMIC METHADONE.......

You live in Germany, the methadone they give out here is called Levomethadone and it is TWICE AS STRONG AS the methadone in the USA, so basically I take 110mg's of methadone per day of nUSA racemic methaoone, but if I lived in Germany I would be prescribed HALF which woulbe 55 mg's of Levomethadone..... I think Germany is the only country that does that (Methadone was made in germany)....... Racemic methadone and levomethadone have the dame effects but in racemic methadone, which is the type in the usa, it is the full methadone that is produced..... In germany, they figured out they dont need the racemic version because the other half of methadone isint needed, so they that the levoratory form, which is called Levomethadone, and it is twice as potent as regular methadone, so somebody like me who is on 110mg's a day of racemic methadone, if they were to take levo methadone, they would only need 55mg's per day, half of their dose..... Do you understand?

      Delete
    14. Yeah, sure.

      tetrazepam is a muscle relaxant.

haha, germany is kinda fucked up, it kinda isn't the same anymore, without france as additional parking lot and national parc.

i really appreciate your opinion and explanations. thank you.

      Delete
    15. forget the part with france, i was just tryin to be funny.

    16. :) LOL No problm Mymind!!!! If it was readliy avalible in the USA, I guarantee you I would have tried tetrazepam by now :)

Temazepam (Iam prescribed 30mgs a day, the strongest does they make in the USA) has muscle relaxant properties, anti anxiety properties and hypnotic (sleep inducing) properties as well, they are probably very alike ;)

    17. My Mind, you are lucky. Being physically addicted to prescribed drugs sucks. Even the mood stabilizer i am on has properties similar to what gives physical withdrawal symptoms. IE: anxiety.

  15. Rich and MyMind, I'm trying to understand drug-addict mindest, help me out here. Don't get offended or defensive, I'm just trying to explain my thinking (I tell you. Monica gave me the paranoia of offending someone by asking questions).

When I am bored I find a new challenge, and I am seriously addicted to learning. I make sure to have some thing to look forward to in the following two month period, once I fail to do that I really get anxious.

I get very uneasy when I am not learning, creating, or having fun. I guess that is my code: either do something creative and useful, or enjoy the moment by taking up some new activity.

I am having such a hard time understanding choosing to be addicted to drugs. Is learning or creating boring to you? Are you under the impression that you cannot create anything, so you may as well just subdue your mind, or are you using drugs to create something even better? I watched Traffic the other day. Too bad it didn't get into why that rich girl was reaching for drugs and prostituting herself when it looked like everything was going for her. Is there any research showing boredom is impossible to avoid for certain brains?

    1. uhm, i'll do the obvious thing to do, and just speak for myself.

i don#t even understand addiction by myself, because i never experienced it. in my opinion it's just an emotional thing.

i think you kinda misunderstood me.

that i am easily bored, doesn't mean that i enjoy nothing. to me, is boredom the missing of the right amount of mental stimulation. i don't wanna sound ballzy right now, but in my case, is a lot of mental stimulation needed.

i love to learn, and i love to create, and being high doesn't effect any of those two things, at least not in my case. i am just as efficient as always. but not bored anymore.
also i am not addicted, or close to being addicted.

to answer your last line, i'd say that every brain that has an IQ above 130, is very prone to boredom.

      Delete
    2. Sceli, I think you may have anxiety issues. Might wanna look into that.

Also, for the sociopathic mind, there is an immense amount of boredom because of the endless monotony of the world. We have to do something to distract ourselves from it. And one great distraction is drugs.

      Delete
    3. Sceli- I take no offense whatsoever to your questions :)

Also, I have seen Traffic too and it is a great movie :)

For me, I didnt "choose" to be addicted to drugs..... Heres what happened to me, my friends and I had a steady connection for 200 mg MS-Contin pills, MS-Contin is Morphine Sulphate (Hence the MS) and Contin (Like OxyContin) means Continuious release....... So when I was 17 years old we would get two hundred milligram MS-Contin pills and I started off using them by chopping the pills into 4 pieces (50 milligram pieces). Every morning when I woke up I would snort a quarter of a pill which was 50mg's and I would be high on morphine all day, feeling no pain, strong euphoria, nodding off, ETC......

I kept doing that day after day until I eventually ran out (when the pills all got sold we would have to wait for my friends mom to get another prescription) and I would get VIOVENTLY ILL..... I had NO IDEA (honestly) that I was addicted to morphine or anything, I thought every once in awhile I'd get "food poisioning" and the symptoms are pretty much the same, like a HEAVY FLU, but alot worse........

Well, eventually it happened so many times that I went to the hospital and the doctor gave me a shot of morphine for pain and I felt fine again..... She also wrote me a prescription for #20n 5mg Percocet pills and told me I had a bad flu and to go home and relax........ Well after she gave me morphine and I felt fine she discharged me and sent me home with the Percocet (oxycodone) and I got "food poisioning" all over again the next day, my mother than went and filled the percocets and I took #8 pills and the "food poisoning" went away......

Well every few hours the "food poisoning" came back and was even worse than it was the time before........... That is when I put 2 and 2 together and relaized I was physically addicted to morphine and the only things that were making me feel better were more opiates.......

I was 17 when that happened and I kept going to crooked pain clinics in south florida until I was 2 years old and I got on Methadone Maintenance and have been on it ever since...... It truly has saved my life..... Yes iam still dependant on methadone but I get a dose daily and can come down off of it as slow as I want to......

It really is a horrible way of life and I hate it, but it happened to me, so Iam making the best of it :)

I am so glad you described what you did. I had no idea what horrors people went through with opiates. It is really a horrible "trick" how good they make you feel and what they exact in return.

I have some questions, Can someone ever get off methadone? How does methadone make you feel? For the people who get off opiates cold turkey such as in jail, do they often die? If not, are they not addicted, anymore?

      Thank you, Sweetheart.

    6. Another question. If someone is addicted to oxycotin, do they go through the same thing you describe? What happens to the people who get addicted for medical reasons, like the doctors prescribing it for pain and then they get it themselves because the doctor won't give them enough? When they go off, are they be in the same position you were? Do you have to go the methadone route, too?

  16. I have had really bad anxiety for my whole life, from the time I was a little kid. I never got fully agrophobic, but I want to come home, when I go out. I yearn to get back to my house like ET. I never get bored, though. I wonder if Rich does. I wonder if anxious people are too anxious to be bored.

Rich, I never hear someone describe what you did. I am so sorry you went through that <3

    1. From what I've seen, Monica, you're right that anxious people are too anxious to be bored.

Sceli is a grat example: "When I am bored I find a new challenge, and I am seriously addicted to learning. I make sure to have some thing to look forward to in the following two month period, once I fail to do that I really get anxious."

    2. You guys overlooked the obvious. Self-worth problems.
only someone, who sole defines his/herself through what he/she accomplishes is that anxious. also i am pretty sure that she isn't addicted to learning, rather she is scared that she won't be appreciated anymore, when she isn't usefull/productive.

    3. yeah, true. I have a friend like that who is sooo easy to manipulate because she relies on me to determine her worth. It's hilarious, really. I can practically make her do anything I want.

      Anything....?^^

      50bucks......

enough to do, worth determined.... problem solved.

Maybe there is an extremely rewarding payback when she is useful and appreciated that hasn't to do with either fear or addiction to being appreciated?

Why do people tell you how you feel here?

  17. The rules have changed. It used to be A plus B equals C and even though it hurt like hell, it was STILL the rule. Now, C looks like a stupid destination that is as fake as Miss America wanting to save the world and find a cure for cancer. She wants her boobs to hang out and win money. YEA, that is how real "C' is. 'C' is everyone likes you and you have a big funeral. Everyone says that you had a heart of gold and would never hurt a fly. You are laying there as star of the show in your open coffin, with your hair done and look really good, better than life, in most cases.
