Fan mail (part 2)

i like this a lot. can i publish it?

best,
m.e.

Reader:
I was hoping you wouldn't respond, that you'd prove me wrong. It would have been nice if your reaction would have been briefly thinking "What an asshole" before hitting the delete button. That would have been the non-sociopathic response. Almost everything I said was a lie, by the way, including my professed love of "stalking" sociopaths and the rosy nostalgia I painted such "victories" with. I was just engaging in a behavior that gets a specific behavioral response. I was wondering if your awareness of your sociopathy, and your openness about it gave you increased ability to act cognitively in ways that I have found sociopaths to be almost entirely behavioral.

I actually believe sociopathy makes some necessary contribution to humanity (though I don't know what it is), and the fact that it still exists in a fairly significant portion of the population is evolutionary evidence of that. The problem isn't genetic sociopathy, it's the intentional creation of imitation sociopaths through education and socialization that is destroying our species. Those bogus sociopaths engage in cruelty and stupidity because of social pressure while lacking the filter of self interest that true sociopaths possess, self-interest that will curb a sociopaths destructive appetites when they become aware that those appetites are self-destructive. Imitation sociopaths have no such awareness or ability to change their behavior. They don't engage in sociopathic behavior for the thrill of it, they do it because they are required to, and the joy they feel is fleeting. They usually hit the bottle or eat a bullet once their immersion in the occupation requiring that sociopathy, and hence their emotional defense against their past sociopathic behavior, ends. Once the social controls of occupational socialization no longer shield them, the remorse creeps in and can become completely overwhelming (PTSD is one common disorder that can arise from engaging in and witnessing extreme sociopathic violence as well as from personal trauma).

This-

"best,
m.e."

Is also a common behavior of sociopaths- the compulsion to indicate that they are not the person they are pretending to be. Providing some cryptic signature with a dual meaning known only to them, but which will skate by without attracting the attention of the reader makes the lie more enjoyable, for some reason. I have had occasion to notice this behavior and test my assumption in real life- jesus, what a piece of work that guy turned out to be. The paper trail of legal documents he left in his wake showed a Goddamn monster. Good thing you guys have that habit though, because he developed some sort of gay infatuation with me because of my writing, and then became openly sociopathic when I didn't respond (not gay). I had to blindside him with the fact that I knew everything about him, including his home address, and since he knew nothing about me, it would be in his best interests to just go away- so he did.

That's an example of what I meant when I said that your behavior is a lie but your words are true.

You can post my first email, along with this one to your site for visitors to freely read, but I don't give any permission to use it in any other manner, place, or for any commercial purpose.

    Amazing.

Dr. McLovin, idle hands are the Devil's playground, you know. You seem to have had a lot of time on your hands to worry about all this.

When you stare into the Abyss... oh, I'm quite sure you know what happens next.

You have it all backwards mate. I revised it for you:

Sociopaths engage in cruelty and stupidity because of social pressure while lacking the filter of self interest that bogus sociopaths possess, self-interest that will curb a fake sociopath's destructive appetites when they become aware that those appetites are self-destructive. Actual sociopaths have no such awareness or ability to change their behavior.

Some of you are under the impression that sociopaths are robots programmed to only do things in their self interest. In reality we are just doing shite that seems almost random to the people around us, because it is all just whims and impulses. Sociopaths are destructive in general. Even against their own self interest. A small example is M.E. saying how she started the blog because she self sabotaged her workplace and caused a bunch of chaos in her own career. Why? I'm sure she got bored.

I had a club earlier this year that had to go because I sat in it and corrupted everyone including the owner till the place was out of control and a large target for the police due to all the attention it was bringing from several incidents. Every social group or organization I have entered has become a conflict zone. Every person that has hung around me I drag deeper into the my own blackhole. I can't help it. I used to tell myself that it was the people around me that were jealous who forced me to cause all the havoc. Lately I realized that if it keeps happening over and over again in unrelated situations it might be me causing it.

Your wrong again. Nothing will kick in now or later. No remorse, no guilt, and no trauma. I sleep like a baby every night knowing all the things I've done to people. Sometimes I even gloat on how smart I was or how pathetic they were. Let's face it a lot of people have it coming. They set themselves up. It's almost like they are searching for you and just walk right up to you to be used.
The people I have used violence on are just blurs. I didn't know I changed the reasons on why I did something to them till my wife was dating me and she witnessed some of the things I do at work. I would give her a justification and change it the next week. She would call me on it. I used to yell at her and tell her she was wrong, but after a while I started to see she was right. They would do something to deserve it, but not in a way I thought she would understand. So I would tell her something that she could justify. I would say it so passionately that I would believe it a lot of times, like I rewrote the whole scene from me being the villian to me being a hero.

  5. Yeah this guy seems pretty enamored of his own internal ramblings.

"I actually believe sociopathy makes some necessary contribution to humanity (though I don't know what it is), and the fact that it still exists in a fairly significant portion of the population is evolutionary evidence of that. "

This made me think though. As an evolutionary trait it would make sense to me that sociopathy could have a 'for the greater good' component. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made and implemented that go against an empathetic nature. If your grandmother is dying from a contagious disease it's in the best interest of everyone to remove the problem from society. However an empaths attachments to loved ones are so strong they might not be able to make the logicly healthy decision of removing the grandmother. However, someone with a limited sense of empathy would have no problem with this sort of decision, hence, contributing to the propogation of the species by being able to remove the detrimental factors without remorse.

Ok, maybe that's not the most sophisticated of arguments but it was my immediate thought.

Friendship/dating/living together while in a relationship spanned about 3 years. Then there was another 8 months we lived together after I finally dumped his ass but didn't have the resources to get my own place. Needless to say, it was the best of times and it was the worst of times. It took a definite turn for the worse as soon as we moved in togheter and he couldn't maintain his masks for long periods of time.

Imitation sociopaths have no such awareness or ability to change their behavior.

I had a feeling about that. I hope the next vacation happens when you're, "incapable of dealing with the worlds bullshit", and you come back more capable. :)

My life is good. I do need to detox again though. Went through a real humdinger, of a manic phase recently, and fueled it with mass amounts of coffee, and sugar!

When I would drive at night, the stop lights would hurt my eyes, as if I were looking into the sun.

So I'm back on raw fruits and veggies... and am coming down nicely. I hope to be able to fly up to San Francisco to see a close friend, soon.

My last vacation was in March, and I chose New York. I hope to go there at least once a year, from now on. Never a dull moment in that city.

I'm always kind of curious about solid manic phases. I've had bouts of hypomania but never an all out manic phase. I imagine I could be super efficient. Haha.

I'll let you know when that is, and have you educate me on these venues. I've been craving Vegas too, lately... but I imagine that's to do with the mania. I went into my first full blown manic phase, two weeks before my first trip to Vegas.

It was one of the wildest rides of my life, and I've been wanting to duplicate it ever since. I know I can't, because I pretty much live most my days in some strength of mania, so there that novelty will never exist for me again.

I can compare it to my first experience of meth. I consumed Vegas, and my boyfriend (at the time), and still felt like I could shoot myself into space! Alcohol had little to no effect on me, so I was drinking whiskey straight, just to get an hour of sleep.

    It was amazing!

I don't like to shop... hate it in fact, so I think that has saved me from financial ruin. But I started binge drinking a lot, after that trip to Vegas. I don't drink much anymore... get's me in a lot of trouble. I've turned violent several times after.

There was a time when I could drink from noon till 4 in the morning, and only gray out; shots and beer.
But I would start acting like a beast, so to speak. My friends would get nervous cause I'd just stop talking, and they'd never know what was going to happen next.

I get hyper-sexual of course. I'll feel half-crazed sometimes... one lover could never be enough, when I get this way because the need to burn all the energy up, is too intense for me to control.

Now, I have learned to channel it in a more productive way. I'm lucky. To learn so much in under 10 years, and not end up killing someone, or getting myself killed... Let's just say I wouldn't keep a gun in my house for a very long time.

  69. "There was a time when I could drink from noon till 4 in the morning, and only gray out; shots and beer.

I can def relate to that. My shopping binges started once I slowed down on extreme drinking ones. I am trying to keep it in moderation at the moment but who knows. Maybe I rationalize filling up a shopping cart with Halloween decorations as being the better option. The only downside to that is I don't get as good of a rush from that.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I think I realized why I can get so obsessed about details, pretty much to the point of inconsequential fastidiousness. Cause I actually don't see what must appear to be the obvious for most others. And what you can't see, you just don't care about. So details of each moment provide me with the intrigue, entertainment and frustration that comes with momentary attachment.

Last Sunday I got detached from my oh so English dive master buddy in the hull of a sunken warship 25 meters down. It was my first wreck dive and I haven't dived for years. She was suddenly no where to be seen when I turned from the hypnosis of my private musings and waved the little torch around, deep in the dark hold of the shattered ship.

My reaction confounds me. The truth was I wasn't really that afraid. I was more preoccupied wondering if I should stay in the dark rusting comfort of the hulk until I run out of light and air. In my mind, to surface on my own with no compass or watch in the strong under current and failing light would probably just put me way beyond where the dive boat was waiting. Either way, why wasn't I more upset that this might actually be the end?

    ReplyDelete
  77. We hate the forum because Erin lives there, right?

You know, I hate to say it, but a forum isn't a bad thing in and of itself. It's a little...odd...because Luke and Erin dawdle around there and refuse to come to comment threads, but you know forums, as a general function of online communication, are nice things.

they make it so you can keep up with different lines of conversation, or refer back to something that might have been posted days ago much easier. Forums are cool, they are a good organizational structure for online communication.

Am I totally out of whack here, guys? I know this division between forum/commenters occurred because of a schism between site regulars, but...people who come into the site aren't going to understand that. They have no idea about the social dynamics of this place. Pretty soon a lot of communication is just going to take place there, that is if we have a lot of migration to this site and people decide to stop lurking. they aren't going to know about the stigmatization attached to the forum. Just a fair warning.

I like the comment threads just fine. I simply think the forum has its place. Also, as David said, sometimes the comment threads are slow and the nice thing about forums is you can reply to different threads of conversation rather than just making one bulk post.

proof that luke came here for self-esteem and not because he's a sociopath:

"I guess I never realized how little self-confidence there is in you sociopaths, and what a driving force that was in your life."

he can denigrate sociopaths now, instead of being one, because in his head he realized that sociopaths don't have the self-esteem he was looking for and wanted to possess, at least in his world

before, it seems he believed that sociopath = confidence/esteem

therefore the sociopath label would have made him feel good, justified things, removed responsibility for his own self-worth and the life that he has lead.

now that it's no longer that way for him, he can speak of sociopaths in 3rd person, as a group to which he doesnt belong, something he can now rail against because his own lack of self-esteem mirrors what he is seeing in the sociopath

projection, self-hate, is all it is

  109. Ok, so I haven't been around as much lately. Why does David erase every comment he makes? Chicken much?

    ReplyDelete
  110. I totally said I'd stop drinking for one month. Promised Friend. Fuck it. Bottoms up.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Yeah, but the thing is he doesn't care how much of a chicken he is. Or so he says.

TNP, I'll leave that one to puzzle out yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  112. David is a piece of shit, literally, and he is not a S/P he is a Narc

    ReplyDelete
  113. what a load of crap. ashamed of his voice? why bother at all if you're just going to be a blur of this person left an indistinguishable mark? might as well not exist or be here at all

I was hoping you wouldn't respond, that you'd prove me wrong. It would have been nice if your reaction would have been briefly thinking "What an asshole" before hitting the delete button. That would have been the non-sociopathic response.

hmm more proof that i'm an empath or at least a bogus one

    ReplyDelete
  115. more proof that they're kissing ass while trying to look like they're trying to go against the grain.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Is option four, wait until M.E. throws it on Twitter so you can gloat? I swear he jumps on anti-narcissist sentiment like a dog in heat. It's kind of cute.

Bad bad girl, getting all up in my internets. Tsk tsk :p

    ReplyDelete
  117. david erases his comments to inflate their worth. easy and effective.

or maybe he can't bear to leave pieces of himself around?

    ReplyDelete
  118. to inflate their worth? Hah. to increase the spinelessness more-like. if they're not there to see, they can't be very important because they can't have any impact in any way. It's like digging a garden and filling it in before you bother to plant seeds.

    ReplyDelete
  119. well for a few seconds i entertained the notion to search the archives (whatever they are).

    ReplyDelete
  120. Speaking of Twitter, are you SocioFreemason, Medusa?

    ReplyDelete
  121. thought there were no female freemasons?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Medusa made SocioFreemason as an open Twitter account for any of us to post the stupid shit said here.

    ReplyDelete
  123. TNP, I know someone said something to that effect a day or two ago, wasn't sure who, thought it was maybe Wheatley, and I was gonna look for whoever it was and give them credit but it was too much effort.

I just though I would put it more succintly.

And no, Twitter wasn't the 4th option.

    ReplyDelete
  124. "@Eden, you are still my favorite person on this site"

I think I'll start believing flattery on a sociopath site, the day David starts eating pussy for a living.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Medusa, I know Twitter wasn't the fourth option. I'm just being an ass :p

    Good call, Eden.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I never comment, but I read this almost religiously. This may have been my favorite post so far. Genius. Deserves a cyber standing ovation. This blog keeps getting better and better. I hope this blog continues to be around for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Mis, why you gettin up in peoples' shit?

    ReplyDelete
  128. ever creepy wallace shawn pic

    ReplyDelete
  129. His brother was a teacher of mine.

    Similar creepy-snide vibe.

Having them both in a room was fun.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Just read this from his brother's wiki:

He is also the author of Wish I Could Be There: Notes from a Phobic Life, which examines his experiences with anxiety and panic disorder, as well as his relationship with his autistic twin sister Mary.

    Of course.

    ReplyDelete
  131. cool.

if he made that face at me i think i would cry. or run and hide!

    ReplyDelete
  132. ROFL! yiu seen th forums? notable told luke to shove off and now he is being a big baby about it. he dedicated a hole topic to say sorry and not be offended. wut a loser LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  133. You probably ARE notable trying to stir things up by getting people to turn their attention to Luke again.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I didn't tell him to 'shove off'. I said he no longer had a reason to be here, because he alienated all the sociopaths at sociopath world.

Any insight or advice he would receive would be second-hand and possibly unreliable, and that since he is not a sociopath (which he thought he was, thus being here during his 'empathy episode') why bother being here? Really, at this point it would only be for getting attention.

That topic of his wasn't dedicating to anything, other than creating bait to get into arguments. What a pathetic attention whore. He's worse than Erin. Well, that might be a stretch, but I'm saying it for now.

    ReplyDelete
  135. More likely that anon 9:00 is Luke.

    ReplyDelete
  136. TNP

he is something alright- but either way he gots ta go

    ReplyDelete
  137. I know exactly what he is. I even told him. I don't think it registered, though. He can do whatever he wants. It makes no difference to me anymore. I tolerate a lot in life, but he won't be one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I don't know. While reading what he writes, I just think narcissist, loud and clear. Like a bell.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yeah, him and the other Narcissist in there, M@, are trying to formulate a periodic table of emotions up there to define sociopathy. What's funny is that he's proud not to be a sociopath, and M@ 'abhors the label'. Oh, and apparently sociopaths aren't sadistic, as per Professor M@.

Fucking laugh riot. I should have more fun up there, but I'd never get out of the house. Endless source of amusement.

    ReplyDelete
  140. seems 2 me that any1 that disagrees with any of the regulars here is a narc and labeled as "self-important"

Ironic all they have to do is disagree with a regular to earn that title. (Of course the regulars aren't likely to get that irony)

    ReplyDelete
  141. Thw regulars attack people in the first place for being narcs... Luke is a weak pussy, he deserved what he got.

    ReplyDelete
  142. McLovin, I am huge fan.
I grew up in a household with one parent and one sibling sociopath.
Eventually, we made the news. That is how these monsters usually end: fire and bloodshed. Only the weakest write blogs and wither away silently.
I believe and evolution: someday the defect will be purged from humanity and WE will be worthy of that name.
I promote the idea of a "final solution" if my mother and brother had been put to sleep earlier life would be better for the whole town. Don't compare that to fascism because without sociopaths there could be no fascism.
They are the thick, greasy dirt that is so hard to wash off.
By the way: I have a lovely wife and we have 3 kids. they will never know that the people in those old pictures were evil.
One is dead and Thank God the other will never be free again.
    Love Dude, Seriously.
