    1. Sir Humphrey is fabulous. Hadn't ever thought about him as a sociopath but I haven't watched Yes Minister in years. He is brilliantly devious and one of the most enjoyable characters ever seen on tele.

    2. House keeps me wondering swell. He says he doesn't care a lot. But sometimes he shows affection in a weird way. So i guess he's high on the spectrum but not full blown psycho

  2. Omar (The Wire) and Ramsay Bolton (GOT) are my favourite characters of all time :D

Along with Ruth Wilson as Alice Morgan in Luther. Spectacular show.

Idris Elba as Stringer Bell (The Wire) was not only a wonderful "high functioning" sociopath, but some of the most delightful eye candy I have ever seen.

Jessica Lange in American Horror Story

And Kathy Bates from American Horror Story: Coven.
My dear Lord she is fucking good!
The story of the real Delphine LaLaurie is fascinating as is, but Bates plays her so brilliantly, she makes the show for me.

    1. Thanks for Omar and Stringer Bell, my suspected sociopath boyfriend loves that show

  3. Wire in the Blood is good for psychopaths. The protagonist (Robson Green) is a somewhat Aspie clinical psychologist tracking down serial killers. Thought-provoking explorations of the darker side of the human psyche, with insights into our general condition.

Jolyon Baker as Dr Michael Bryant - Wire in the Blood

Ben Mendelsohn - impressive in Police Rescue episode Wild Card.

  4. The best depiction of a sociopath on film is Denzel Washington in
"Training Day." A character of pure evil. Butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

    1. He was pretty damned good.
If you like corrupt, sociopathic cops, you might like Michael Chiklis as Vic in The Shield.
      He is truly something.

  5. Best "haughty headmaster malevolent specter" portrait: Delbert Grady -The Shining. Come on, that Nightcrawler flick was GARBAGE, it was not about a psychopath. No credible psychopath was seen in that movie.

    1. I think gyllenahal's character in that movie was certainly a sociopath.

    2. The movie-characters robotic movements and long stares? And in the end they almost had to show "hey, this is about a psycho!" in the car-scene. Sure they did not confuse "killer android" with socio?

      Delete
    3. well he lacked empathy, showed no remorse for his crimes, was a great liar, was very calculating, had superficial charm... those are some of the main traits of a sociopath

      Delete
    4. "Killer androids" also show most of those traits. If it had not been for that scene at the end nobody would have thought the main character to be socio, just some dull & determined business-guy. The whole movie was dull. The message in it, that media exploits tragedies...big controversy in the year 1956 perhaps?

  6. And the Joker character in Dark Knight: "psychotic", not socio.

  7. Most powerful/best socio portrait EVER in movies: "Wild Bill" on the green mile..

  8. Best "subtle" socio portraits in movies: Dexter and Breaking Bad and Compliance main characters.

  11. I also find Toby Kebbel, playing Koba in 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' to be an interesting addition to the list.

Can apes be sociopaths? Since many/all chimps in the right circumstances could easily kill a human, is it his human-like intelligence that makes his actions sociopathic?

  12. wish there were more likeable s/p in movies and in life

  13. an elephant can kill a human. are you an idiot? apes are not sociopaths, at least there is no evidence of it. nor is there evidence of human like intelligence in chimps making their actions sociopathic. There is however very strong evidence of you being a moron.

    1. dawn of the planet of the apes is a fictional movie where apes have human like qualities and can speak. so it makes perfect sense that koba is a sociopath. obviously there is no such thing as a sociopathic ape in real life...

      Delete
    2. We are talking about a fictional "Planet of the Apes" and whether an ape with human intelligence in that scenario can be a sociopath, or whether they are just acting according to their nature.

      Delete
    3. Are you completely oblivious to the basic premise of the "Planet of the Apes" franchise?

  14. Rosamund Pike's character in gone girl was more of a narcissist. Either way though that murder scene was epic.

    1. Love the premises of his philosophy but his conclusions are not necessary.

The illusion of purpose and meaning need not be tragic if treated as mere experiences and enjoyed.

"They welcomed it... there was an unmistakable release... how easy it was to just let go. You know you didn't have to hang on so tight. "

Ha! Just let go now. Stop observing, stop collapsing the wave function. Let the patterns emerge.

    2. That's how I saw it too. I'm sure that such a character would in fact develop into a sociopath over time if it wasn't for the impossible ending simply because he'd find a way to make his ride enjoyable. He'd let go.

    3. Perhaps like me to a degree, although I lack sociopathic malignity. Intriguing.

  18. Fictional sociopaths are not sociopaths. They are the result of an author's interpretation of what sociopathy means in a specific and fictional circumstance.
Labels can be interpreted in a myriad of ways, but people are just that; people (regardless of whatever their weaknesses and strengths are).

  19. Many movie sociopaths are far better than real ones, many directors/script writers have understood the nature of these beings better than the cretins in jail. The famous dancing Mr Blonde in reservoir dogs show some talent to define "violent psychopathy" in very few scenes, "playful evil stuff". Almost like a short poem that contains the "essence" of something.

    1. Well, aren't you the artful piece of indescribable craft?
You almost got it right in the way that I almost get it right every time I try describe the magic of not succumbing to the sheepish reality of submitting to those who hate you more than you hate them.
Perhaps I'm too delighted in raising sheep to slaughter them for no reason.
Perhaps I'm too disgusted in slaughtering sheep for no reason?

  24. There is a show on AMC called "Halt and Catch Fire." I think one of the characters, Joe MacMillan is a sociopath, but his portrayal is a lot more subtle and humanizing that many other fictional characters.

  26. My heart is filled with love and happiness because my husband is back to me after a divorce with the help of a genuine spell caster .My name is Becky Miller , I live in California,USA. I'm happily married to a lovely and caring husband ,with three kids. A very big problem occurred in my family seven months ago, between me and my husband .so terrible that he took the case to court for a divorce.he said that he never wanted to stay with me again, and that he didn't love me anymore. So he packed out of the house and made me and my children passed through severe pain. I tried all my possible means to get him back, after much begging, but all to no avail.and he confirmed it that he has made his decision, and he never wanted to see me again. So on one evening,as i was coming back from work,i met an old friend of mine who asked of my husband .So i explained every thing to him,so he told me that the only way i can get my husband back,is to visit a spell caster, because it has really worked for him too.So i never believed in spell, but i had no other choice, than to follow his advice. Then he gave me the email address of the spell caster whom he visited.{bravespellcaster@gmail.com}. So the next morning,i sent a mail to the address he gave to me,and the spell caster assured me that i will get my husband back the next day. What an amazing statement!! I never believed,so he spoke with me,and told me everything that i need to do. Then the next morning, So surprisingly, my husband who didn't call me for the past seven 9 months, gave me a call to inform me that he was coming back.So Amazing!! So that was how he came back that same day, with lots of love and joy,and he apologized for his mistake, and for the pain he caused me and my children. Then from that day,our relationship was now stronger than how it were before,by the help of a spell caster. So, i will advice you out there to kindly visit the same website { http://lovespelldrbrave.weebly.com/. } if you have any problem contact Dr Brave ,{ bravespellcaster@gmail.com }, thanks you Dr Brave, i will always be testifying about your good work, and for any questions call me on +1(575) 779-6197.

  27. TREMENDOUS AND WONDERFUL THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN MY MARRIAGE
Hello everyone out here, am here to tell the world how a spell caster brought my husband back Home, i never thought that spell casters are real, until my husband left me. My name is Serena Williams, i work and live in UK, i got married to my husband 12 years ago, we have 3 kid together, we never have any misunderstanding all this years we lived happily, but all of a sudden he changed and started treating my kids and i very bad, later he stooped coming home, he dose not come home at least month, this really bothered me.

I was browsing through the net one day when a came across on how Lord Micheal saved a woman called Mandy Diana marriage, i aid let me give him a try on this, i never believed in spell casting before i thought that they were all scam, when i contacted him, he told me not to worry that he will help me, surprisingly he told me that my husband will come back to me in the next 24 hours, with a heart full o doubt, it was a shock that my husband came back to me and started begging that he is sorry, and now we are happy once again. 28. My name is SERENA WILLIAMS, am from UK. i want to use this opportunity to thank my great doctor who really made my life a pleasurable one today. This great man DR.EWAN brought my husband back to me, i had three lovely kids for my husband, about four years ago i and my husband has been into one quarrel or the other until he finally left me for one lady. i felt life was over and my kids thought they would never see their father again. i tried to be strong just for the kids but i could not control the pains that torments my heart, my heart was filled with sorrows and pains because i was really in love with my husband. Every day and night i think of him and always wish he would come back to me, until one day i met a good friend of mine that was also in a situation like me but her problem was her ex-boyfriend who she had an unwanted pregnancy for and he refused to take responsibility and dumped her. she told me that mine was a small case and that i should not worry about it at all, so i asked her what was the solution to my problems and she gave me this great man email address. i was doubting if this man was the solution, so i contacted this great man and he told me what to do and i did them all, he told me to wait for just two day and that my husband will come crawling on his kneels just for forgiveness so i faithfully did what this great man asked me to do and for sure after two days i heard a knock on the door, in a great surprise i saw him on his kneels and i was speechless, when he saw me, all he did was crying and asking me for forgiveness, from that day, all the pains and sorrows in my heart flew away, since then i and my husband and our lovely kids are happy.that's why i want to say a big thank you to DR.EWAN spiritual temple. This great man made me to understand that there is no problem on earth that has no solution so please if you know that you have this same problem or any problem that is similar, i will advise you to come straight to this great man. you can email him at:covenantsolutiontemple@gmail.com, you can still call him on his mobile number +2347052958531
