Psychology Survey - MBTI

A request:

I was interested to see if there could be any correlation between any MBTI facets and sociopathy, so I created a survey to investigate.  It's only 3 short questions, so it will take about a minute.  As the experiment is looking only at sociopathy, I would ask empaths to not particpate.   I will share with you the results provided that a reasonable number of people submit answers.

Here is the survey:

Here is a personality test that is generally reliable:

  1. Sociopaths ESTP's. They are extraverted. They value "real world" stuff.
Tangable stuff: Sex, money, and power. They THINK. No empathy here.
And they think that rules are made to be broken. Perceivers rather then
    judgers.

Depending the test, it was always changing. So I took a test with 102 questions, and here's the result. Other test give me INTP.

Anyone want to advise the meaning ?

      Extroverted (E) 51.28% Introverted (I) 48.72%
      Sensing (S) 55% Intuitive (N) 45%
      Thinking (T) 90% Feeling (F) 10%
      Perceiving (P) 63.64% Judging (J) 36.36%

      Your type is: ESTP

Every one of these tests I get ESTP. I certainly think it's the arch type for charismatic sociopath.

  2. I'm ESTJ. I just answered your survey and wanted to share my comment here as well. I've heard that one of the introvert personalities (can't remember which one now) is closely linked to sociopathy, and mine, ESTJ is quite uncommon. Maybe the survey will help clear this up.

    1. it's INTP that they say. it's the more common.

    2. I found out from a description... Then again I often score as intj. I get this on tests often. I've also gotten entp (or entj?) and a few others. Those tests are hard... For some reason I can't seem to answer the questions. Because there's the me that I present, the me that I want to be seen as, and the version that I actually am. (If there is a "real me")

  3. Hmm, beware of self-selection bias which is likely to have type correlation.

  4. Completed. I'm curious to see your results.

  5. OP, you won't get statistically reliable results without some sort of control group. How would you ever know that it's not just certain personality types that spend their time on the Internet rather than out and about? I predict, at least, a strong correlation with introversion. When this pops up on the results, you will see my point.

    1. Well, then they just run it again at a set time period for empaths. Control group sorted (of course, unless they specify that the empath/sociopath diagnosis must be official, they're somewhat at the mercy of self-diagnosis error anyway).

I'll be interested to see the results, although as a self-identified probable empath I didn't take the test.

  6. Of all who commented as well as myself only have one of the 4 is universal. Which should have been obvious when you consider the fundamental difference between us and them could be summed up as "thinking vs. Feeling"

  7. I've taken the MBTI many times over the years and I'm always an INTJ.

  8. I am not sure. As far as I can tell, I am an empath who desires to be a sociopath.

As an analogy, I consider myself to be a very tame and well behaved puppy dog who as I sit chained to the fence, hear wolves howling in the woods and thinks, "That sounds like fun. Running down prey, ripping out throats, scaring the population to death."

Then I cult up by my master's feet and purr.

  9. I take MBTI personalities with a grain of salt. It's perhaps marginally more accurate then the arbitrary astrology signs. Human minds and personalities are too infinitely complex to put such labels on them.

  10. My MBTI type is somewhere between two similar types (depends whether I take the Jungian version or one of the more generically worded ones - the generically worded ones trip me up since the non-specificity leads to a 'depends on the situation' answer). I suspect mood also plays a part ;)

    1. Hi SD,
May I ask what your types are?

      Delete
    2. Sure - in the spirit of reciprocity (yep, I deal that way and I don't generally forget): I land somewhere between INTJ and INTF :)

      Delete
    3. I'm mostly INTP or ISTP, tho I had ESTP twice too. I guess it really depends on the mood. :)

    4. I've never come up 'E' as myself. Only when I was 'being' someone else, which doesn't surprise me. They are very 'E'. You've generally come across as 'I' to me (that don't read right lol), but I've probably never seen you in party mode as it were.

I mis-typed above: should have been INFJ not INTF. Duh SD! Never type under the affluence of incahol ;)

      Delete
    5. 'I' and 'N' are always low in percentage whenever I take one of those tests, tho I consider myself to be generally more introverted. There are days however I feel like I have to spend around people or else I go crazy - and then there are triggers, some people and certain situations which make me much more extroverted than I normally am. 'Party mode' isn't the only reason, tho alcohol has a certain effect on me of course... You should have seen me on that rock/metal festival xD

I thought you were an introvert, but the 'J' did surprise me. The typo was very clear, happens a lot with me too hence easy to 'translate' xD

LoL @ the affluence of incahol

    6. You correceted the wrong one SD. Well, glad youre and INFJ instead of INTJ. But what is INTF about ? I would guess INFP or INTP.
INTP Vs INFJ can be difficult to differentiate. Then as I once read
"In every INTP is a closet INFP", to complicate further.

    2. it's easier if you accept who you are, and just try to be better version of you. because they say it's not possible to entirely change your personality, and even if you think nothing is impossible still you will have to make so much effort and it's still a risk, you may not succeed. see my point? and you will see at some point, that it doesn't really matter. you know what's wrong and right, you can have dreams about future, and you can learn anything you want and be better at anyjob you're passionate about.
so just focus on what you do, not who you are.

      Delete
    3. "see my point? and you will see at some point," ...uhm ..nice!

I don't want to change :), my ambitions are high and i keep adjusting them if i get a higher position. I'm never satisfied. That keeps me going.

    4. Nah.. They just have a "cold" mind. A calculating one. Most of them use it to explain the behaviour of the sociopaths around them. As in family. Because what some say, and what some do, just dont fucking make sense... That is before the mind is dissociated from emotions and put into pure analyse mode.

So many NTs do have a capable sociopathic mind. I just dont think they care a lot about what they get from using it in a sociopathic way, since most of them dont really care a lot about people in general. They rather analyse some piece of assembly code, an algorithm or do some programming.

    5. With low F, and the simplicity of most people when it comes to the need to use T for analytical purpose, NTs do struggle finding energy to bother. One needs to be quite egocentrical to both know that one is manipulating other people and then not care about it. But even that isnt enough. One also need the lust to do it, the F component.

    6. @frank: but I feel like you're trying to change your core, what you want is to make your weaknesses your strengths. the part that we don't have empathy, isn't better. in a way it is, but it is also possible to have empathy and have no problem with it. the key is, how you manage to use it?
we're not better. we're just the way we are, and maybe our survival rate would be higher than some others, but we're not animals to care about survival rates. the point is, we are not better. we're just the way we are, and we have our own good and bads. just like you.

    7. by "NT" I actually meant INTx. NT plus extraversion is probably a good sociomix, I consider the ENTJ as macchiavellian malignant narcissists pricks, often.

Lol, if you read your story it makes no sense. You say we and then you say just like you...
I know empaths have their strengths, but somehow that doesn't matter. I feel that i'm better and smarter then anyone else. And who cares about survival, i just want to have as much fun as i can.

  12. Sociopaths have no introspection, so the test would be futile.
Like like to fight and f-ck, and walk over everyone that stands in their way.
The Kennedy family were prototype sociopaths, as are most attorneys

  13. Never rely on tests or in something you want to be. I guess many sociopaths have pretty low self awareness. Ask for professional opinion.

Anyways Se-Ni NJs and SPs see world as struggle and competition.
