The ruthlessness of nature

25 comments:

  1. I note that the musical back round of that piece was very simular to
the film "Polertgeist." As a former victim of Poltergeist attack, I want
to say that such things REALLY happen. Disembodied "sociopaths"
(Demons) really do exist, and are permitted to attack people on
ocassion. I was attacked bu unseen hands at times, and saw different
manifestations. If there's anything more vicious then the sociopath
you see, it's the sociopath you can't see. I continue to harken back to
two films that explain this phonomium. 1) "The Haunting" (1963) 2)
"The Curse Of The Demon." (1957) Pray that you never have to
undergo what I did: Sociopathic victimazation both inside and outside
    the bedroom.

    2. Wow, that is AWful! I'd never been able to track down the whole interview before but it was worth the wait. Thanks for posting :-)
The 'disguise' in particular was hilarious, no way M.E. thought it would actually work. She seems to have bounced back from it well but my god she comes across as a right nutter.

    3. to whom? the show panders to the dull normal.

    4. To me, Dr. Phil seemed like a jerk. I wondered if ME felt at least a momentary desire to target him for destruction.

    5. he didn't seem happy with ME's intelligent responses.

ME, weren't you tempted to play in to the stereotype and freak him out?

    6. @Zoe: Hopefully nobody's in any doubt over the intellectual merits of Dr Phil's show, the Doc himself was a rude prick to his guest and I'm sure a lot of the video interview (as in the non-studio bits) were cut in such a way as to make M.E. look worse. However the whole "I can't be trusted with a knife" shtick and the laboured point of "I could kill someone, but I probably won't, but then again it might happen. Who knows!" were just plain weird.

And yes, her real name wasn't revealed onscreen but she was hardly what you'd call anonymous; anybody watching who knew her would recognise her straight away, pantomime wig or not, which made the excuse about 'protecting' the little nieces and nephews all the more meaningless.

    7. true she didn't seem very anonymous. but not everyone watches dr phil. i could go on the show and pretend to be a hooker, and no one would recognize me. it would be too far out and more easy to believe that it was a look-a-like.

i thought the knife shtick was funny. you can't take everything seriously. the "i could, but I won't. but i could" is funny to me on its own. i just used it recently with an annoying family member, minus the knife.

    8. so glad i'm not the only one who thinks dr. phil is a bit stupid. he also seemed medicated or something.

and didn't smile much... what was with that?

    9. She was just pretending to be retarded.

    10. Yeah they were funny, but in a "I'm laughing my arse off at this woman's expense" way rather than an "isn't she witty" one. If it was all just a ruse, then kudos to her, it was an excellently played role.

As for Phil, he was probably being the big tough Texan, standing up to the scary sociopath.

    11. pretending to be retarded? she didn't come across retarded, just classy.
dr. phil was likely pissed that he didn't get his creepy little sociopath and determined not to have an intelligent discussion.

i didn't care a bit for his plodding interview style... i want my time back!

  3. All you can do is shake your head when reading the youtube comments along with the remarks of Dr. Phil.

  4. I watched the YouTube interview and insofar as one can tell from a short exchange, I don't think ME is a sociopath. A lot of the things she describes - working on self presentation, humouring people etc - are common to all sorts of people. I say go for the brain scan ME before you accept the diagnosis.

  5. I saw a huge bass eat a baby duckling this summer in one gulp. The bass needs to eat. The turtle needs to eat. When humans behave this way, is it 'primitive brain',' cave man brain','ancient dinosaur brain'?

  6. This video is pretty damn funny. I see you trying to once again push the notion that since animals are innately ruthless and violent this is "natural" for humans as well. While we do have a part of our brain that is purely animal or "mammalian" it is those of use who try to transcend those lower instincts that are truly "evolved". We must not become smug about our monkey-like mindset.

    1. i think we just transmute our lower instincts. feed them video games and porn.

  7. When I watched Dr. Phil I was too distracted by how hot ME was to give a fuck about anything else. You can't judge shit in such a short time and in such a contrived scenario. Dr. Phil likes to shoot fish in a barrel, not hard for anyone, but ME was above it if you noticed. And totally fuckable too.
