Faux-ciopath

"Some day neurosurgeons could offer to turn you into a psychopath if you so desired." This is great news for all of those alleged sociopath wannabes, particularly since penis enlargements seem to be little more than a pipe dream still. Selections from FuturePundit (original article here):
“Our findings show that people who have psychopathic symptoms behave as though they are suffering frontal brain damage,” said Dr. Simone Shamay-Tsoory.

At the risk of stating the obvious: If an injury to a specific part of the brain reduces empathy then empathy is a product of that part of the brain.

Not all psychopaths lack the ability to comprehend emotions felt by others. It isn't that they lack the ability to model the emotions of others. Rather, their emotional reaction to their own modeling of others is different than it is in most people. This is, by the way, why I fear future artificial intelligences. I do not expect they will have behavior-restraining empathy.

An existing explanation for such behavior suggests inability to comprehend the existence of emotions in others. However, the fact that many psychopaths act with sophistication and deceit with intention to harm others, indicates that they actually have a good grasp of the mental capacity of others - and are even capable of using that knowledge in order to cause them harm.
I almost didn't share this particular article because it lacks a certain coherency that one expects from a legitimate source. The most ridiculous part of the article is this statement: "This is, by the way, why I fear future artificial intelligences. I do not expect they will have behavior-restraining empathy." Behavior-restraining empathy? Empathy is not necessary for helpful behavior, nor does it necessarily prevent hurtful behavior, as shown humorously here. Plus, it's weird that he would say that. Hasn't he seen Bladerunner? Terminator 2? Doesn't he know that there is a little moral ambiguity involved with AI?

129 comments:

  1. A robot wouldn't need empathy because first and foremost he would have the three rules of robotics at the core of his intelligence:

    1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
    2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
    3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Uh, that's neither here nor there. Lobotomies are done by damaging the frontal lobe.

Doesn't necessarily turn them into a psychopath.

    "Our findings..."

Wtf does that mean? Found it where? At the Broad Generalization store?

  3. Personally, I welcome our robotic overlords.

  4. That’s why you make AI with a kill switch. You build a machine, you control it, it does not control you. Sometimes I think parents have this idea, but actual living breathing people aren’t so controllable.

  5. HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that

When a body has intelligence there is always some risk.

  6. Those assholes, they wouldn't know any better if the truth were obvious. Try frontal brain activity as opposed to NOT.

  7. So I've figured out I have a belief structure. I BELIEVE that someone would have to be a sociopath to be a neurosurgeon and fancy releasing this as anything other than garbage.

  12. Hey, they have psychopathic cops.

  16. No, i'll become the presidents chief advisor, then manipulate him into commanding the army to wipe everyone out.

  17. Empathy does not restrain behavior, fear restrains behavior. The fear that I'll kill you or you'll kill me if you choose "unhealthy" behavior.

It does not require that either one of us have empathy, if you don't want to die then you won't do that. If you do that then expect to die.

This works on 100% of all people and on all animals. It's called negative reinforcement. If we want to restrain behavior, fear is the only way and the consequences have to be immediate, and merciless to send a message to the others.

    ReplyDelete
  18. "HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that"

    lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. For Adam

i like me some revolution. good luck egypt!

    ReplyDelete
  20. "This works on 100% of all people and on all animals."

Wrong. The death penalty has never worked as a deterrent. Not even crucifixion and beheadings do. The only way to stop "unhealthy behaviour" is to create a system which is completely unbeatable. A system where nobody can slip through the net, otherwise people will always take risks for the things they want if they have a shot at getting away with it.

I don't care when I'm punished. Punishement doesn't make me reconsider my behaviour, it just seems like an annoyance that I have to face before I can get back to doing whatever I was doing before. I suppose if I were killed instantly after doing something wrong, I wouldn't get a chance to get back to whatever I was doing, but then I wouldn't care, I'd be dead. I doesn't mean anything to me when I see others being punished I just think "sucks to be them".

  21. Whats your theory on death Thrope?

Where happens to the inner part of you thats not body?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Sorry for the grammer, typing in the dark

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't think he can relate to that question Tik.

    ReplyDelete
  24. There is no inner part of me except for blood and guts. Nothing happens to you when you die. Your body and your brain shuts down and then you're gone forever. Deal with it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I know Misanthrope wants to sounds all gloomy and evil, goes with his name but nobody knows what happens when we die, so leave it at that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. And your a Misanthrope? Humanity must have done damage to you for you to hate them, i thought sociopaths were indifferent to the human race?

    ReplyDelete
  27. "I know Misanthrope wants to sounds all gloomy and evil"

This coming from mr "by all rights I should be a serial killer by now".

It's not gloomy or evil it's just the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "i thought sociopaths were indifferent to the human race?"

Well you should know right? Seeing as you are a sociopath, or at least thats what you tell us every chance you get.

    ReplyDelete
  29. What i said was true, you can't prove what you said, therefore I'm right.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The reason i said that is because most sociopaths are agnostic, they don't give that much time thinking about religion nor care.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Adam, you are a twat. You've done nothing but make a fool of yourself since arriving here. You tell us these stories about how you abuse your aunt, and the expect us to be impressed? No scratch that, you expect us to even care? I'm not agnostic, I'm an athiest. I don't believe in god because I have no reason to. It hasn't taken a great deal of thinking to reach that conclusion.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Other then being on this blog do you really have much contact with other sociopaths?

And is ASPD alwaymean that they are? I don't think so but want to know what you think.

    Adam just seems young.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well if you haven't looked into both fields your the "twat" i boast about abusing my aunt, same way that UKan or whatever his name is boasts about being being a cool ass drug dealer, you are a punk with an attitude problem lol get real, your the most unattractive poster here, everything you say is retarded.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Lol. Havent you noticed that everthing you post here goes ignored(except by the retarded anons). That's because everything you say is ridiculous. UKan boasts but at least his stories are entertaining. I don't care about how you spat in aunts soup. Drop some cyanide in it next time, then you'll have a story to tell.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Adam, there's a little bit of a difference between boasting about being rich through illegal practices and boasting about spitting in your aunt's soup.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh, Misanthrope beat me to it...

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't care about how you spat in aunts soup

If everything i say gets ignored (which is doesn't) how did you know i spat in my aunts soup? And cyanide? Why would i do that? I could do, i doubt you could though, if you are loyal to another poster you sure wouldn't do damage to your family.

    ReplyDelete
  38. You know when your winning an argument when everyone takes the losers side ;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ya know I'm starting to understand why people who usually post here are starting to dissipate. Its turning into the battle of the twelve year olds. Misanthrope dose a great job of making people look like idiots and like they are the cause of the argumants but shes been at the center of allot of the arguments lately.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Now your just arguing the details, Adam. People don't respond to you because the things you say are boring and childish. You boast about abusing your family because you can't do anything else. It's the only power you can attain. You don't stand a chance in the real world. Your a fuck up.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm paying of anons to keep me in power.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Go back Anon they always argued.

So did anyone nitice Peter Pan posted the other night?

    Where is Postmodern and Daniel?

    ReplyDelete
  43. If you ask me Misanthrope seems to be a great Troll target.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't care if Adam is a troll or not. There's nothing better to do around here.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh I know the arguments have always been there. Once upon a time they were worth reading.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Misanthrope is a skinhead anarchist, he will come out of his phase eventually, then send all of his KMFDM tapes to poor niggers.

    ReplyDelete
  47. "but shes been"

Haha. I'm being particularly bitchy today, but I'm a he.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh I know the arguments have always been there. Once upon a time they were worth reading.

Anon, the arguments here lately are awesome, people are being degraded and attacked by three or more people it's great, it never used to happen, your the kind of person who reads for fun.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Adam the complaint isn't about the arguments its about the content... oh and yes I do find reading enjoyable... otherwise i wouldn't wast my time reading this blog let alone the comments.

Apologies Misanthrope. I get my names mixed up.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "Adam the complaint isn't about the arguments its about the content"

Yeah but it got the ball rolling didn't it? I created a chain reaction of comments. It was interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  51. lol... If you mean the behavior of the driveling masses is interesting... I find it predictable. Not so much interesting. I understood your boredom angle a little better.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am not who you think I am. I Am who I Am, and unlike you.
That you can't grasp the wonder of my nature is rather a good thing.

Who wants to worship a God who can be fully comprehended,eh?
    Not much mystery in that.

You were created to be loved and left unresolved you'll forget that you were ever created for that.

So let me tell you again that I love you and that is why I made you.

  53. Misanthrope doesn't like who she isFebruary 2, 2011 at 6:30 PM

Misanthrope is the perfect example of a wannabe psychopath taking the whole, psychopaths do not respond to punishment thing too far. She clearly has no knowledge of psychopathy.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Misanthrope

The death penalty without any positive reinforcement does not work. You need both carrot and stick. But the Mafia shows that when you offer wealth and freedom for obedience and death for disobedience that it works fairly well.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't respond to punishment. It actually makes me even "worse" in a way. I resent the people who punish me and feel the need to act out even more, just to get back at them. Like when I was younger, if I did something to piss my parents off they'd usually put me on "lockdown". I'd be shut in my room all day long sometimes for days at a time. All that while, I wouldn't scream or cry about it, I'd jjst think of what I could do next to give them as much grief as possible. I've carried that same attitude into later life. If thats not not responding to punishment I don't what is. Nice 6 year olds insult by the way(calling me a girl).

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't think it works at all(as a deterrent). I'm sure Mafia guys fuck each other over all the time. They must do. How else would you get ahead in an organisation like that?

    ReplyDelete
  57. The only people that it really deters are people that typically wouldn't do anything to get the death penalty anyway. Aside from that there is always someone who, thinks they can beat it, thinks its worth the risk for what ever reason, or just doesn't care.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I actually agree with Misanthrope on the punishment thing. I get pissed at who ever punishes me and think of a way to punish them for punishing me. It improves my game as well though, if I get caught stealing I figure out why that was and learn how to do it better, if I get punished for being nasty to someone I learn how to be more subtle or hide it better. Being does punished have an effect on me but the lesson I learn isn't not to do it again. It's to do it better next time.

  59. Does anyone here see sociopathy as an illness, or at least a disorder of the mind? (I'm asking honest socios here) - LOL.

With BPD, i can see it as an illness, since for one, it involves impulse behaviours that often go against my better judgment or the angel on my shoulder, and also behaviours that are self-destructive.

So, I can see myself as being disordered, but do you guys?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Didn't choose it.
But then, I'm inclined to say we're better than others. Seriously, altruism, what the hell's that about? Way too illogical.

    ReplyDelete
  61. well, i asked the question tentatively. I'm aware you think you're great. I just wanted some insight. My behaviour is both logical and yet self-destructive. This amounts to a disorder. Logic is irrelevant, controlling urges is what is important.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Its seems to be a genetic mutation like a gap between your teeth. Empathy is a mark of a species that was too physically weak to survive out side of a social environment. Our 'normal' was created over thousands of years of natural selection. Sociopaths seem to be a product of civilization, where much of that natural selection has been arrested. There it gives an edge because then there are plenty of people to feed off of. but I just pulled that out of my ass.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. And that's why it's called a "wise-ass", haha. Couldn't have put it better myself. A certain percentage of an entire species that turned parasitic and elevated to a form of art...

I take it a lot are good looking because the "primal" members had used their conning skills (or force, if needed) to claim the best looking mating partners, thus arming their future offspring with the right "looks" to adapt better. After all, people are not only drawn to physical aesthetics, they also trust it.

      Delete
  63. you've answered in a suitably intellectual way. I was looking more for what you feel about yourself. I guess therein lies the difference between us.
Actually, you've reminded me of something I read about a long time ago. I'll try to find it and put a link up.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Impulsiveness is also a trait of psychopaths, it's usually in the form of aggression, verbal or physical if provoked enough.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Tell me this, if psychopathy is just a lack of conscience then why do some serial murderers have sex with the dead? That proves that you guys are deeply disturbed, and you cloak it by saying it's just a lack of conscience.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I don't feel like theres anything wrong with me. Its not a disorder. In fact its freedom from the human condition. I see people everyday that are stopped up by there emotions and there feeling for others. I Don't have to deal with that. The only thing I have to worry about is losing my temper but with age I have over come this as well.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Warrior, Nomad or Settler

    Which one are you?

I read this ages ago. I think it has some interesting points. I'd say I'm a nomad/settler.
the celeb examples made me chuckle for some reason, i think cos they included fearne britton from 'ready steady cook.' hehe

  68. tell me this if all Americans aren't ass holes then why do some of them cut people of on the high way...

  71. Don't lie, i know yall be having your necrophelic fanatsies

    ReplyDelete
  72. so how do you react at the fact it's listed as a disorder then?

    ReplyDelete
  73. I see it more as a personality style than disease, albeit a destructive one.

I'm going to use an analogy, notme.

The average, not too fucked up NT is like a rubber band laying on the table. Not perfectly round, probably, but close enough, well rounded.

I see PDs as sort of, stretching of the band in one or several directions. Extreme pulls go to various areas outside of the norm where that circle usually is, requiring the band to give and opening up the band to different areas of the table, while narrowing and excluding others.

Let it stretch too far, and eventually it snaps.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I understand it. People fear what they don't understand and they have to label anything that is different. To a person who has felt things like intense love and other stuff they can't imagine what it would be like without it and to be honest the only socios people really learn about are the ones that get caught doing shit that sicken normal people. The other ones... well... no one will ever know.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I mean if you know you are a socio you also know how scared people are of the title so you are not about to tell anybody.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I love how wannabe sociopaths on other sites get all defensive when people think it's a "disorder", they go insane and start saying that it's just a different way of thinking, get real, anyone who is a legit sociopath knows how maladaptive it is, we fall prey to our owns mechanisms as does any other PD, projection, rage and bouts of anxiety and constant dysphoria.

    ReplyDelete
  77. hehe Note, i've frequently described my behaviour with an elastic band analogy - stretched to an extreme till it snaps back in my face - then i start all over again. great.

'Tell me this, if psychopathy is just a lack of conscience then why do some serial murderers have sex with the dead? That proves that you guys are deeply disturbed, and you cloak it by saying it's just a lack of conscience.'

i have holes in my concience - by that i mean there are things I'd do without qualm that society would deem immoral - in those situations, I feel 'normal' not disordered. (ironic considering society would deem me abnormal - it's like I can't win. lol.) And i presume this is how socios feel all the time.

I don't really know where i'm going with this tbh...my heads fuzzy

    ReplyDelete
  78. I don't know why people would fear a psychopath, shoot him and he will bleed like anyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Anon 9.04 that's an honest answer and what i was hoping for. Probably cos i wanna know if socios can be as fucked up as I am sometimes. I don't like to think borderlines are the most messed up ones. But, maybe we are. Or maybe we're just able to hone in on it more, since we don't have massive egos. ;) Or maybe borderlines are the worst hyperchondriacs out there. meh. I'm joking of course. I will say this, depression is an illness, it eats away at your brain cells. Probably those same cells that sociopaths never had. :) Aren't you lucky.

  81. All personality disorders are maladaptive, hence why they are called personality disorders, we are not all ice cold, i can feel fear, but it's difficult to know what another person is feeling, i will say this though, Ive never doubted myself or had a suicidal thought and I'm glad for that.

    ReplyDelete
  82. It's safe to say that people with BPD have a punishing conscience, true? Do you feel as though you let down yourself or others when you fuck up?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Lol... so you were just waiting for the answer you wanted... not necessarily the honest answer. One man's honest answer is not another's.
but once again they is the game isn't is. People believe what 'feels' right. That is there right i guess

    ReplyDelete
  84. 'Ive never doubted myself or had a suicidal thought and I'm glad for that.'

    that's good.

anon, 9.27, yes, a punishing concience. 'Do you feel as though you let down yourself or others when you fuck up?'
    both i suppose. intensely.

the other anon at 9.27. I was looking for honesty. And I know it's not completely rosy as a socio either. And i like for you guys to take a good look at yourselves too. What's the harm in that?
If you don't agree with the other anon, then that's fine. I understand it can be different for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  85. 'People believe what feels right'
good point. But my feelings change quite rapidly, so don't worry, in five minutes I'll go back to believing you're all far better off than me. Don't worry about it. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thanks 9.27 anon. Serious selective deafness Notme.

    ReplyDelete
  87. what? where? I explained myself.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Notme, why do you converse with sociopaths? If you had been in a relationship you would loathe and despise them, your playful voyeurism is seen as weakness to people like this, when people cry, they are to be abused rather than cared for to the sociopath, they are fascinating for a while but after a while you grow nauseated.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sorry I wrote that before your sort of explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Don't get me wrong I have difficulties but non of them are from my lack of emotion or conscience. Those to me are advantages. I'm not saying that the others are wrong. that is their experience. My comment was to point to your implication that my response was less honest than the others because I don't 'suffer' the same way they do. Of course its not completely rosy. I don't know a well adjusted person who doesn't suffer in one way or another. If I were autistic I would want that to change. If I had your disorder I would want that to change and I would probably find comfort in the idea that I wasn't the only one suffering. I am bipolar and i want that to go away because that makes it vary difficult to control some of my baser ergs. I have ADHD and I defiantly want that to go away because it is the greatest obstruction to my goals, but I don't want the burden of empathy and feeling. I don't see any need for them.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I think I read a headline somewhere about a sociopath who also had depression. I was too lazy to read it but I didn't understand how you could be a socio and have depression, anyone?
On the subject of it being a disorder, sometimes I forget that I'm different, sometimes it pisses me off I have to always study and work around people cause I'd get in trouble if I just told them to shut up and stop whining about their love lives or a death in the family or all the emotional problems they're having. Saying that though, I watch them and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be one of them. Obviously it seems to me like they're the ones with the disorder, admittedly, some of the stuff I do is just plain weird, but I get a kick out of it so that's all that really matters... And then I come here to whine about my problems, nice move hypocrite.
And Ka-Pow! I am truly self-obsessed this evening... morning... Where ever you'd put 6am.

P.s. I think 'honest socios' is an oxymoron.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Depression is more than a sad feeling. When I'm depressed I don't feel sad. I just don't find pleasure in anything but my addictions and even then they just pass the time. I get most of the other symptoms like insomnia or hyposomnia, lack of energy, irritability ect.

    ReplyDelete
  93. anon, 9.55
i don't come here to be comforted - lol. And i don't even find them fascinating or complex tbh, i cringe when idiots say they are fascinated by sociopaths. Only neurotypicals say that. I came here a while ago and found that the discussions were interesting to me since my way of thinking/feeling is very different to them, and sometimes the same. It helps me gain insight into others and myself. But mostly, it's just wasting time in the middle of the night when I can't sleep.
I don't loathe and despise them - my ex wasn't worthy of being loathed, not to my mind. I've had exes who've hated me by the end, it's irrelevant.

Don't get me wrong, i don't need to be here anymore. But when I'm bored, why not?

    ReplyDelete
  94. P.S. I think honest human is an oxymoron

    ReplyDelete
  95. According to Dr. Hare sociopathy is not a personality disorder. So go fuck yourself smarty pants.

    ReplyDelete
  96. btw, 'i love nt' - what/who is nt?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Ooh, maybe I'm depressed then, never thought of that. Wait. What am I supposed to take pleasure in?

And Notme, you said you 'don't need to be here anymore' so you did before?

Damn, I've just realised that on this site my name has another and incorrect implication. I'll have to switch to I love tn.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh. It's an anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  99. If anyone wants an intelligent conversation look me up =) No offence to the community here, but....well its boring lol

    ReplyDelete
  100. If the community here is boring why are you advertising yourself as an opportunity for conversation to them. Fix your logic.

    ReplyDelete
  101. i love tn - an anagram of nt? oh yes. so much clearer now. ;)

er yes. it was useful to me at first, seeing the differences between me and socios.

    ReplyDelete
  102. No the whole thing is an anagram of one word.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Anon, sorry if you thought i was implying you were being dishonest. Maybe i was. i dunno ;)

gotcha - i love tn. lol

    ReplyDelete
  104. I love tn. well allot socios take great pleaser in fucking with other people and almost anything that has to do with adrenalin.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Worked it out yet?

    ReplyDelete
  106. yes. violent.

do you know what mine's an anagram of?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Well yeah that's my thing. But that does mean I'm bored a lot of the time. Apparently most people are contented with 'being around the people they love'... I like jumping out of planes.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Good girls. :)
I didn't realise it was one.

    ReplyDelete
  109. When I'm depressed nothing gives me pleaser. Nothing at all, I don't feel sad but I don't want to move off the couch either.

I'm lying, mine's not an anagram. I do think i've got the best name here though. It's short and unpretencious. though the fact i said that makes it pretencious. and i don't think i can even spell pretencious.

  111. nuts, i'll visit your site more if you change your graphics. It totally rapes my eyes. But if you don't want me there, then don't worry. ;)

  112. I worked that one out. Unless your real name is Monte.
    It's pretentious.
    Why'd you choose it?

  113. I meant the word is spelled p-r-e-t-e-n-t-i-o-u-s. Although it is a little.

  114. i think any handle you choose is pretentious, by definition, unless it's your real name. (er, thanks, i thought i got it wrong).

um, i chose it on a whim. What i say one day, i may say the opposite another day - hence the name means i shouldn't be trusted for what i say or do.
'it wasn't me' lol...i was having a nihilistic moment perhaps.

  115. But of course, the most important thing about a handle

  117. lol Note.

i need to rephrase. i said earlier that my ex wasn't worthy of being hated. I meant he didn't deserve to be hated by me. I don't understand how love can turn to hate. I don't get that.
Love is pretty pure in my opinion, or unconditional as some would say. So, yeah, i thought i should correct that since it sounded all wrong.

i can hate with a passion. But, that's usually with people i'm not in love with in the first place.

    night guys

Anon @9:04 got it right, psychopathy is definately a disorder, while I recognise that some psychopaths are more well adjusted than others, there are no psychopaths who haven't been negatively affected by their condition. I'm skeptical on the idea of succesful psychopaths, I found out about psychopathy over a year ago and have made very little progress so far. I think low serotonin, projective identification, procrasination, personality disturbance and a lack of insight into the past are the things holding me back.

  119. There's no NT that hasn't been negatively affected by their condition also.

  120. "Misanthrope said...
I don't think it works at all(as a deterrent). I'm sure Mafia guys fuck each other over all the time. They must do. How else would you get ahead in an organisation like that?"

That is why most sociopaths don't live very long. They know the punishment for disobedience is death, but they cannot resist the impulse to disobey. The result is they end up getting themselves killed at a relatively young age over something really stupid.

Now you do have some successful sociopaths who can obey, and who are a bit more cautious. This is the type that would rise in the mafia. The reckless types typically get killed off quick because the people at the top of the organization are going to see them as trying to overthrow the organization by exhibiting disobedience.

If the punishment is death for a certain behavior and you adopt it knowing the consequences, then you've decided that adopting that behavior is worth dying for.

This is completely irrational, illogical, and something I do believe a lot of sociopaths can't resist the urge to do, usually out of some delusion that they can never get caught or are invincible.

To move up you have to be manipulative, sneaky, highly intelligent, and you have to know how to follow the rules of the game.

If you can't do these things you wont make it as a sociopath. Or at least you wont make it very far or very high in the hierarchy of power. Sure there are rare exceptions who make it to the top, but they are usually flash in the pan types who don't stay at the top for very long because they literally had to kill their way or claw their way up.

  121. The author of this blog is obsessed with himself, and obsessed with empathy. He is so peeved and sensitive about the idea of something like empathy that he devotes countless hours on this fairly meticulous blog talking about what a sociopath he is....blahblahohi'mabadassblahblahblah. Ok dork: if you were such a badass sociopath you would NOT be keeping a blog, ok? Hello! You would be out there in the real world conning people, getting shit, and having lots of sex, which clearly you aren't since you spend way too much time online. The author of this blog is a freakin''fauxciopath' themselves people. Sociopaths don't....blog. They fight and they fuck and they don't BLOG about it they just DO IT. This blog's author is a narcissist, not a sociopath and certianly not a psychopath.

  122. Back to AI:
In addition to lacking the genetically pre-programmed restraints found in humans and animals the AI would also lack the drives like self-preservation.
You could tell it "I'm gonna smash you to bits with this hammer right now." and it would not even have an opinion about that.
