Demons

Explaining the influence of demons in Rio de Janeiro gang warfare:
Pastor Sidney explained how it was he could see demons: "People who are possessed tend to look at a fixed point and have a coldness around them -- their eyes don't blink. The persons themselves are absent." Whenever he saw them, he would "ask Jesus to take them, and the angels come and grab the demon from them." It also helped, he said, to invoke the name of the Lord. "Traditional religious faith helps ground you, as do demonstrations of God's power."

  2. keep taking this stuff lightly, you don't have voodoo priests in the majority of Haiti, South American countries, and Africa for nothing.

evil spirits exist. but sociopaths or the common man are evil enough withouth the help of demons, look at history from slavery, to religious conquisitions/persecusions to land colonizers to greedy corporations to nuclear weapons to terrosts to rapists, murderers, serial killers, thieves, etc....it's not the world that's bad, it's the people in it.

That's right! So do pixies, fairies, trolls, talking but ironically cowardly lions, the Easter Bunny and the Flying Spaghetti Monster among other amazing, mysterical creatures. (Who doesn't hate it when his royal noodlie-ness leaves marinara sauce on their windshields when he flies overhead?!? And why am I so certain FSM is a he…) Thank The Maker we have the Ghostbusters and the MIB's to save us from all those things that go bump in the night and try to sneak their way into our houses via our chimneys. Damn fantasy creatures!!! Why won’t they leave us alone?!?!?!?!?

    "keep taking this stuff lightly..."

    I would never!!!!

Could be narcissists. The eyes are a bit frozen, like two snow globes.

Sociopath eyes? I dated one once, nice blue eyes.

Narcissists eyes turn inward, unseeing. But I don’t really mind them. They're fun to be around.

  16. I was and am. It did. There is a lot of narcissism in my family. I remember the moment I realized at around eight or nine that I would never realistically be able to compete with them emotionally, that there was this difference, and that in this way we were worlds apart. It still amazes me how they build their personas, the masks, all the energy and effort that goes into it. They are spectacular when young. But it’s not a pretty way to grow old.

When I was a teenager, there was a lot of criticism, a lot of emphasis on appearances. Getting ready to go out, it would be makeup, hair, clothes, mask. This relentless need and demand for perfection, as if their lives depended on it. I hated it. I couldn’t do it. It took me forever to realize that they couldn’t help it. How completely locked in they are.

I can be a narcissist magnet. Recently, I’ve cut loose the really toxic ones from my life and now keep them in small doses. Like truffles.

  18. Wow, strange subject & stranger people talking about it it seems. Strange world. " If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you" So said Jesus. Yes,it is for sure an evil place we are forced to inhabit. "Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold". Ya, cold place down here. If you find someone good hold on.
