Sociopaths in the news: branding humans

This is totally something I would think is a good idea:
JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - A Swaziland parliamentarian has apologized after calling for HIV-positive people to be branded on the buttocks to stop the spread of the virus ravaging the country.

Timothy Myeni drew widespread criticism after telling a parliamentarians' workshop in Swaziland that the move would enable people to check partners for a warning stamp before sex.

"I'm very sorry. If you need me to show a sign of how sorry I am, I'm ready," SAPA news agency quoted Myeni as telling a news conference in Johannesburg on Thursday.

  1. Whats the problem, that makes perfect sense to me...he never said it had to be a massive stamp did he. A little red H would have done. Plus its on the arse its not like he is saying slap it right in the middle of the persons forehead. People could be discreet when checking (i know i wouldn't be though, id be like drop your trousers).

  2. First they should come up with a reliable test.

  3. Will that not open the flood gates for other types of branding(ok maybe not 'flood gates per-si but even a single snow flake that just so happends to roll down a moutain adds up to something). Is that not the step befor "Lets round 'em up and they can life together!"

'Course theres always one of those types of persons in a crowd.

  4. I wouldn't want that if I was infected. So no, I don't approve. :P

  5. This seems like a delightful idea. A tatoo would probably be better (more acceptable, less barbaric) than a brand, but yeah, a little icon on the ass would be perfect.

A sign? How about branding "bastard" on YOUR rear?
