Quote: Destruction

"Construction and destruction alike satisfy the will to power, but construction is more difficult as a rule, and therefore gives more satisfaction to the person who can achieve it.”

  1. So much spam. I enjoy choosing the harder path as it is more rewarding. Construction is delayed gratification though and against my nature. Patience is required and perseverance. Not something that comes naturally to me.

  2. Oh I wouldn't say that... to destroy something (or someone) perfectly and properly, it requires a lot of patience and knowledge etc... but yes maybe it is not as rewarding as to construct something...

  7. Most trends start in the US an then spreads all over the world, right? Are there any "My friendly sociopath!"-clubs over there, that tries to get rid of old & crusty prejudice? Can needy people call these clubs & soon there appears a cute and friendly sociopath ready to give good advice or just smalltalk?

  9. I would disagree, to construct something is easy but to construct something that is without flaw is gratifying it is impossible to do. You will start the process and only get angry because no matter what you will try and do a empath rely on old habbits. Im dating a girl right now Ive tried to as you put it construct her: ive gotten rid of her friends that bullied her, ive made her stop doing irresponsible stuff . to put it short ive made her into an adult but she will still do things that i find dumb and annoying.MY project to construct her into an adult has been driving me crazy. While i consider construction an almost impossible task i still try and probably will until she catches on. Until then i find that destroying people emotionally and mentally is the easiest way to get gratification. destruction is the easiest and wont drive you crazy like construction.

    1. But you see, there is no construction without deconstruction. Like with your girl... you first had to destroy her, you had to get rid of the (in your eyes) "bad" things as you said, before you could construct her into a new person. It's the same if you want to build a house or actually anything... the first step is always the destruction of the old environment. Actually every life, just everything, is based on destruction... without the big bang, that destroyed the "old" planet, there would not be life. And you are right, nothing will ever be perfect because everything is striving to chaos due to the entropy. And the entopy in a system is always positive (btw that's the 2. thermodynamic law), so what ever we do to establish order, entropy is working against us. So of course one can become crazy (I think there is a certain intelligence necessary)! It's impossible to beat the entropy.... that's what life is, pure chaos... you just need to accept this

      Delete
    2. Life is a little bastion against entropy; hence the energy expenditure requirement.

Don't forget creative destruction and revolutionising structures from within.

      Delete
    3. that may be right... nevertheless I think it's a lost fight against entropy... but maybe I'm just too pessimistic...

"Don't forget creative destruction and revolutionising structures from within."

Well I think every destruction is creative in its own way because the result is always a new creation

      Delete
    4. We all are participating in a march towards entropy or death. Do sociopaths feel their creation or energy continues beyond that point? Do they feel they will be free at that point? Or do they feel this is it-there is no revolutionising structures from within. No rising to a higher plane of consciousness than one has already achieved.

    5. 909 kinda sounds like my husband. Wtf. Lol. I drive him mad but he likes it. The never-ending challenge. But there's seasons of relief thank God. And I have grown through the years. But my default mode is still in me. I try to channel it in ways that will edify me now. He helps me see what's good for me and what is absolutely not good for me. Ex. "Those friends you say are friends use the fuck outta you. So stop." He lets me know how his brother was the same way growing up. He always would let his brother know that he unfortunately picked some losers who would use him up. His brother is ADHD. I probably had that growing up and secondary conditions resulted because it went undiagnosed.

I once told my husband "you're not my father, wtf." His reply , " you never had anyone show you what's good for you - I'm trying to help you see a more productive and peaceful way."

Im attached to his anchor , stability. Lol. He finds purpose is his construction.

    6. Yes i see all of your points the idea that construction can not be started without destruction but you seem to miss the main point of my post that the idea of gratification. destruction is quick and can be done again and again. While construction takes long and is never perfect so its very little gratification with set backs of anger and almost making you lose control. for me losing control is my nightmare. So for me construction is the hunt of perfection. Perfection is unattainable while in the process of construction it provides little gratification and satisfaction while making me lose control. For a sociopath control is everything. So then comes the idea of risk versus reward that we all do the satisfaction of constructing someone and the con of losing control. For me the cons out way the satisfaction. Then again while ive been constructing this girl it does cure a bit of my boredom so its like a long term project that is a bit of an addiction to me. Its like when i construct her she destroys me. Guess that supports your idea of entropy....

      Delete
    7. Well I see your point now, falschenkonto (btw where is this name from?... or what does it mean? just curious). But look, if you accept that control is a delusion, too, you can't lose it. However, if it is your way to deal with boredom, it is good... because I know, there is nothing worse than boredom...

    8. "Its like when i construct her she destroys me. Guess that supports your idea of entropy...."

Good feels. Give up some control, there is perfection in imperfections. Don't hurt her through her vulnerabilities, ( you probably have that power to do so, but then she'll loose long term trust in you). You need her trust. Ultimately she'll come to know your a real safe person.

Guide her, protect her... She will be yours. All of yours. Specially through the times that frustrate you. ;)

    10. Anon 4:07, I agree with both your points. Ground zero is the least-formed state, the most ready state, the state of highest potential.

That we eventually physically succumb to the universe is somehow ok for me. I emerged from it, too. So I see my time as this physical organism is the universe, life, the human species reaching specifically forward as me. I thrill to that idea of how I can create the most full expression of myself before my wave subsides and other waves roll on.

falschenkonto: that's an interesting point you draw out about the relationship between perfection and control. When I was young, perhaps 18 or 19, I found myself in a situation where I couldn't formulate perfection in my environment, despite mastering all the variables I could influence. It shattered something in me, broke some childhood assumptions about the nature of the world. It was a period of creative destruction for my mind, I had to reshape the way I understood the world and approached it.

From there, I found the great gift of seeking contextual mastery, only really ever concerning myself with influencing or shaping as best I could. In other words, I don't hold myself accountable beyond my capacity and this dramatically reduced my frustration, giving space for creativity, which is the way we posit ourselves.

"when I construct her she destroys me" - Do you mean she moves beyond your control? What do you experience there?

    11. Im very surprised how well most of you treated me as this has been my first post on the site. Finally glad to be part of a community that understand my "personality". First the name means fake account in German and second: To north i mean by the phrase that she destroys me is that while i try to construct her she while do things that i find as imperfections and will cause me to become angry and i have had moments where i feel like i am crazy. Or sometimes i feel as if she is controlling me instead of me controlling her, its like a game of cat and mouse but instead of the cat playing with his prey and eventually killing it like it usually does this turns into an episode of tom and jerry. North i dont know how to really describe it its kinda why it cures my boredom but i would say part of it is about not having the control i want over her . The worst part is that its not for destruction like i am use to. Its to make her better so i find it frustrating. while if i dont have control of my target in destruction it just means i have a harder prey and i find that intriguing but if i dont have power over the person im constructing i find it very annoying and sometimes can point to me having a mental breakdown. of usually anger and not being able to understand why she doesn't listen or do the things that she does. Also north i find it strange that this situation is similar when you where 18 because that is how old i am.

    14. You missed a very important point about uplifting people as opposed to destroying them Anon. When you destroy a person you get a broken person and momentary satisfaction from the power rush. When you uplift a person correctly the pass the happiness on. Destroy and you effect one or two lives. Create and you can change thousands through the trickle down effect. This is true power. It takes time and patience and it is never perfect but the benefits are much more important.

The problem is you are still looking at as what YOU personally gain from it. This act must be unselfish. Look to gain nothing for yourself even though it goes against everything we are. For instance when I was managing a restaurant we had a weekly customer who would come in twice a week like clockwork. Same time, same day, same order. He never smiled or talked more than to order. He NEVER smiled. Everyone else thought he was a complete bastard and only one waitress would wait on him. I thought perhaps he was not a bastard but just really shy. So I made it my goal in life to make the man smile. It took two years. Within a week after that I got him to engage in conversation. Over the course of the next year I coaxed him out of his shell. Turns out he was a sweet guy, very intelligent, just socially awkward. Turns out once I got him to open up I talked about his work and helped him learn how to be as at ease with everyone as he had become with us. He got promoted into management. He started eating new things and trying new things in life at my suggestion. He started traveling and he met a lady. He was in love and terrified. I helped him with that too and coaxed him into asking her out. They got married a year later. This man turned out to be one the best humans on the planet and he touched the lives of many other people in a positive way. This would never have happened without me deciding I was going to make him smile. Two years. The pay off was not mine but societies and his new family's. This is why uplifting/creating is so much more powerful than destroying. It has side benefits, it has permanent repercussions in the world, in society. That is real power.

    15. well puppy basket, this is right... if you are searching for power... but I don't want power! Acutally I don't know what I want in life at all... Where is the point in (like I explaind previously) fighting against entropy? I mean, it is nice if you can change the life of a few people in a positive way... really nice and sincere. But don't you want to find out, what the puropse of life is? IF there is a higher meaning in life... is there something greater than us, do we serve a purpose? Or are we just some litte coincidences, going through life and trying to become happy and make other people to become happy (or destroy them)? I really want to find out and I determined that "playing god" by constructing or destroying people dosn't really help (or maybe I don't do it correctly)... maybe we humans are not intelligent enough to solve the riddle of life... this would be really sad. But don't you have the desire to find it out, too?

I have an other question for you puppy basket: does it satisfy you if you properly uplift a person? And WHY are you uplifting certain people? Is it just to satisfy your boredom or your thirst for power?

      Delete

Hmmm... But if you destroy somebodys life and within this prevent the positive influence on probably thousands of lives you instead are having an insanely negative influence. So I would say destroying actually has the exact same amount of power, probably even with the same number of different outcomes as construction/creation has.

The big difference I would say is more that pure destruction is useless and boring while creation and construction are used potential and within useful.

And @anon 1026 whatever Puppy Baskets motivation is, one could say that construction and building people up is the only purpose humans have in life. There is nothing more useful than enhancing the human race, even if its just a small enhancement.

    17. I personally believe everyone's purpose is to ascend to a higher level of consciousness. I feel sociopaths play an important role in that. Do sociopaths sense that in themselves?

      Delete
    18. eingew, I think the motivation is very important... there is a difference between the things you do to cure boredom and these you do because it satisfy you or because you really want to achieve something... and I hope there is something else as just enhance the human race... because I really don't want to have children and have a family etc... so my aim is to look if there is something else in life and I think to talk to the people here is a good beginning because sociopaths are not that driven by emotions...

Anon 9:27, do you mean sociopaths are important to find out if there is a higher level of consciousness or if they help everyone to ascend to this consciousness?

btw thanks puppy basket for your advice to show the people my true self... I told my oldest friend about me and I was really surprised that she accepted it and just said this will not change anything about our relationship... I'm really amazed... so just if you are interested....

    19. Alice- sociopaths seem to have a duel role. Construstion and destruction. I believe we all are different frequencies of energy. Constantly changing. Sociopaths seem to be aware of so many things about themselves. When they become aware of the power they have independent of others they will reach a higher level of consciousness. This of course is true for nons also. I don't know why it's so hard to see things sometimes but it is.

      Delete
    20. And yes I think sociopaths greatly open others eyes. I don't know if this is intentional . And I wonder if nons ever do the same for sociopaths.

      Delete
    21. Consciousness as a sociopath... thats only possible if you are using the calm and rational parts of them. The problem with them is their boredom. And beeing bored makes you beeing ignorant, what is the exact opposite of beeing conscious.

Beeing conscious in the original buddhist way to see it means to be definitely NOT like a sociopath. Sure, you are rational, but you should not only notice emotions, you need to understand and feel them as a whole but meanwhile you shouldnt be affected by them. Thats buddhism, thats consciousness. Sociopaths instead often do not completely understand emotionas and to often they use them in a rather useless way. Not everybody is like Puppy Basket is showing his (or her) behaviour.

      @Alice
I dont mean to get kids or something, that would be the easiest thing. But for example having close friends and trying to help them improve their live. Or even improving the live of somebody you dont know that well. (For example I am helping some of my fellow students to get through their more difficult exams. I mean... thats what I think is a way to improve humans.)
May you even invent something like the airbag ;)

And anon, it is almost always the case, that others do see you in a more true form than you yourself would ever be able to.

Thanks Superchick, I'll watch it tonight.

I watched Anger Management with **-* last night. He likes Jack Nicholson, which made me laugh inside because my dad does too. Anyway, there's lots of bits where JN's character narcissistically tries to define the Adam Sandler character's reality. I'd cringe or scowl at the TV while **-* laughed. I found it interesting and kinda nice. and a reminder that all our interactions are negotiations. I don't mean that to diminish any richness we experience, rather to illustrate that we are always making choices for ourselves.

    2. Lol, Anger Management, I remember that movie North, that show is so funny! I must watch it again. :)

    3. North , yes you're right the narcisstic traits do kinda come out. Content of when to use these traits is everything. I watched this before bed last night. I love iPods and self actualization videos. This makes sense. The traits of dominant men are what attract women -- but how it has limits and damaging effects as well in other settings. Everything within balance. Personally the nice guys wins at the end. :) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wyct_8OL1Zg

Hubs was like this before we dated. He had three church girls like him when I was interested. And I kinda played in a good harmless way. But he never let his alpha characteristics make him assholic towards women. He was definitely alpha. But he respected women. It was a good balance. And the bonus was he never exposed these women and fucked them over.....and leave them in turmoil afterwards. He knew how to control his alpa-ness in an honourable way. He never wanted to hurt the other women and we'd even have dinners together talking about it. Then his ex called me that she liked him again. Basically telling me to back off right? ;) I told him.... go .....have coffee with her and know if she's the one. Because you'll always wonder.
That night he knocked on my door. It hurt doing that but I wanted him happy. I wanted him to be with the girl that he desired to be with and had a huge hard on for. ;) He said it was me.

I never experienced that agape love. My own needs meant nothing compared to wanting what was best for him. I would have honoured any decision he made because he was sincere.

  13. The will to power can have different roots. One can be undue pride & arrogance. Another an innocent desire to fill the void inside and to fulfill a purpose higher than yourself. Yet another can be a genuine faith in your abilities to do a better job than others in a certain position. As always, intentions are what count.

This is a nice little summation of the problems of pride by one of the greatest minds of all time, Al-Ghazali.

    1. Jonaid I have a question: do you think, the end justifies the means? Because all religious people I know reject this motto... no matter what religion they belong.

      Delete
    2. I'm not sure how best to articulate my thoughts on this. The simple answer is no. When I was an atheist of course I used to say that if you aim for something that is the greatest good, sometimes you have to do what's undesirable. That made sense in a world where there are no absolute laws or authority. However, once you accept that all things come from God and return to Him, then inevitably you have to conclude that you cannot break the rules, no matter what.

It's simple logic really: no one except God knows the "end" anyway, be it "the end" or "an end." No one except God knows all the "means" to any given end. There must be ONE best way to do any specific thing and only He knows. So to say that I have an end in mind and I'm willing to do what's not necessarily right to get there & then it'll be justified is not justifiable. Trust breaks down when anything but the truth is used to achieve something.

      Delete
    3. It's pretty interesting, that almost all religious people (at least the people I know) are arguing in a similar way... but how do you guys know what's right and what is not and how can you accomplish the "one best way" if only god knows it? I mean these writings like the bible and the koran etc were written by humans and no one knows if this is really reflecting god... you just assume that...

      Delete
    4. It goes to show that the origins of all revealed religions are the same. They tend to lose their purity over time but that's the natural course of all things: they start off pristine and begin to decay.

As for how I know the Quran is the word of God: YOU assume that I assume that. Could you just wake up one day and devote your entire life to a belief that you just assumed to be true? To following a book you just took a huge leap of faith in trusting?

How God guides is the most amazing & brilliant thing I've ever witnessed in my life, bar far. It is subjective & objective at the same time BUT each individual has to experience it for themselves to understand. So if you really care to know the truth above all else, than it will find you. No amount of pure logic & reason can satiate the heart - it needs direct confirmation.

    5. So did you always belive in god, jonaid? Or was there something like a turning point in your life, where you started to belive... and if yes, was there a certain reason? I think there are many people who belive in god just because they where raised like this. Their parents showed them to trust in god and they just adopted it, without an own opinion... I'm asking this because I always wonder WHY people belive in god. In my opinion it is so delusional... but I really want to understand these people! How can they be so satisfied in beliving in something "supernatural" and why do they (or most of them) not have the desire find an explanation? Most of the actions normal people carry out I can understand quite good, people are so predictable and their actions are so primitive, but the whole god thing is a riddle and this really bothers me...

    6. I didn't believe in God until the end of last year. I had been a staunch atheist (by which I mean I genuinely with 99.99999% certainly believed that God was man made, not vice versa) for the past 11/12 years. The Quran says that God shows His signs "in the horizon and in themselves" to whoever He wills. I swear to God that's exactly what happened to me and today every waking moment I'm fully aware that He exists & is aware of every single thing that's happening in the world. I see signs everywhere now. It's as if I was blind all my life but didn't know it because I was deluded into thinking that just because I see SOMETHING it means my eyes are doing their job. Put on a clean pair of sunglasses and you see reality in a way that you could never have perceived of before.

I agree that the vast majority of people - so it seems on the outside - only appear to believe in God because that's how they've been raised and culturally trained. How you came to believe is not as important as how strong your belief is. People vary in the level of certainty they have in their faith. I went from 99.9999% against God's existence to the exact opposite.

I will tell you one thing. Today I feel like I've always known, deep down, that Someone was always there. It was buried so deep that it was almost non-existent. I didn't find God, I was just reminded. There is a right time for every soul's awakening. I was not ready to know everything I know today two years ago, or 5 years ago, or 12 years ago when I was transitioning into atheism. So if you really want to know, your time will come and you'll be in awe!

    7. God guides you? Does he guide everyone?

I study together with a guy from Irak. I dont know much about his religious beliefs, I do only know that he knows alot about the islam. Well and he saw stuff like this as gods sign: He gave a homeless some money (he knever does that usually) and just after this he could save his car from getting towed off. He later said that was probably all because he gave the homeless guy some money - but realistically if he wouldnt have wasted time (and money) to somebody who probably just buys another bottle of alcohol (prejudices incoming) from it, the supervisor (is that the right english word for sb who checks if nobody is parking in an area, where parking is not allowed?) would have been even more far away and he would have had more time to save his car from the evil tow truck.

Is that how god guides us? Or is this guy misleading himself? Because I am not seeing gods hand in this world and not in my life aswell.

    9. Life experiences are definitely part of it. Everyone claims to be objective but if the world doesn't make sense of our experience, no amount of evidence is going to satisfy us. Everything I witnessed last year made sense of my entire life, all my experiences, all the troubles, all the mysteries AND the world as I understood it.

I was roughly 15/16 when I started drifting off into atheism and 28 when I turned around.

  17. How I Got My Husband Back Testimony,Love spell that really works...My Names is Natasha Hayes from London,UK. My husband and I have been married for about 7 yrs now. We were happily married with two kids, a boy and a girl. 3 months ago, I started to notice some strange behavior from him and a few weeks later I found out that my husband is seeing someone else. He started coming home late from work, he hardly care about me or the kids anymore, Sometimes he goes out and doesn't even come back home for about 2-3 days. I did all I could to rectify this problem but all to no avail. I became very worried and needed help. As I was browsing through the internet one day, I came across a website that suggested that Dr Unity can help solve marital problems, restore broken relationships and so on. So, I felt I should give him a try. I contacted him and and told him my problems and he told me what to do and i did it and he did a spell for me. 28 hours later, my husband came to me and apologized for the wrongs he did and promise never to do it again. 18.
