Myers-Briggs and the Forer Effect

A reader sent this video about how Myers-Briggs is not at all well accepted in the psychology world but is highly popular outside and why:

But to say that the types are "totally meaningless" seems an exaggeration. If (1) about half of the people who take the test multiple times get different types and (2) it fails to predict success in various jobs and (3) it's really only so popular because it gives positive results (you're courageous, you're sensitive, e.g.) and it simplifies our world and satisfies our brain's desire to find patterns and categorize, that in my mind doesn't equate to meaningless. But is it more popular nowadays to say something outrageous and absolute, or has that always been in?

The interesting thing to me is that there isn't more gaming of the Myers-Briggs if it is so popular, if it is supposedly so popular with employers and so meaningless.

Also, my brother (who has apparently been living under a rock for a decade or more) had just discovered the test recently and was making everyone in my family take it, but only after I had predicted everyone's types with uncanny success. Could it be that what the Myers-Briggs is testing accurately is less someone's personality and more their deepest desires and insecurities? It doesn't seem obviously that way if you just look at the questions, but the whole administration of it seems to invite it -- people answering questions about what they think and want? Could it be that the Myers-Briggs is getting at underlying beliefs and desires in a sideways way the same way that a Freudian slip or dream analysis might reveal unconscious motivations and belief systems? For some reason I kind of feel well, because the same part of my brain that I use to guess people's type is the same one that I use to read people (i.e. observe desires, longings, and areas of potential vulnerability in another).

I know I've said a lot of douche-y, particularly megalomanical and uneducated things in this post, and this is the last one I promise, but how is it that people don't know what their type is before they take the test? Do they not have any level of self-awareness that they need to be told these things about themselves?

  1. Humans usually don't know themselves that well, as i have also noticed. It is fascinating in a way, that somehow the one whose thoughts they know, they seem to understand the least. I have never found a good reason why, and i have given up trying. What use to waste my time? As for the M-B test, what a bore.

  2. One might display a strong tendency towards one extreme or the other for each pair of traits but someone else could be in the middle of the spectrum for each of the 4 pairs. That person could be classified in any way, almost. So you may find an ENFP for example, more similar to an ISTJ--if both of them are close to the middle of the spectrum--than to another ENFP with very strongly defined tendencies.
Also your IQ interacts with those traits. I remember Geoffrey Miller (an evolutionary psychologist) talking about the interaction between IQ and personality traits but using the "big 5" model, instead. He was talking about the trait "openness" and said something like: creativity was openness + intelligence, and according to him, openness + low intelligence was more like schizophrenia.
Maybe for Myers-Briggs, if you have low IQ / high J, you end up creating narrow and inflexible boxes to put your ideas in. But if you have high IQ / high J your categorizing and internal structures are more complex.
I tend to think in terms of the big 5 with people I know. I can't help but categorize them, too. It's like deconstructing their personalities into a few core dimensions so then you can mix them up and think of some behaviors, trying to identify which traits are responsible or involved, interacting.
One potential problem I see in the method (via questionnaire) is that sometimes you can't tell if certain behavior is driven by one of the 4 dimensions. For example, if one of the statements you have to agree or disagree with in the questionnaire is something like: "I don't usually go to parties" and lets say you highly agree, that will increase your score for introversion but maybe it's not introversion but a social phobia. Also, some questions, you don't know how to answer because it's a 'yes' for some situations and a 'no' in other cases, something like: "I'm tend to be organized".

  3. Good Question!
"Do they not have any level of self-awareness"
I'm highly introspective (schizoid) and have wondered the same thing. The short answer is NPO. It's a good research topic for me.
I misdiagnosed myself in the beginning, but have since found important personality characteristics in family members, BUT, do I tell them? OR, do I let them meander ignorantly through life? I haven't yet decided. Not all people appreciate bad news like I do :)
Ignorance, denial, and the subconscious for many people are forms of protection from reality. Informing people may not change anything about them because these defenses will remain.

PEOPLE can not be helped. They can not be aware of themselves without therapy and even then that doesn't always help.

Do ASPD's, Psychopaths, and Sociopaths have a high level of self awareness? As high as a schizoid? (for the record I'm a covert schizoid who feels like I have some sociopath in me)

  4. The more self aware you are, the less sociopathic you are. When your true self - the thinking and reflecting YOU - is in charge than you're okay. Sociopaths operate like machines: they see and react accordingly with minimal capacity - if any - to consider a whole host of reasons why a person behaves a certain way in any given context. You see I learn about someone by getting to know them for a while. A person's nature is by and large the same but they may - given the context - behave differently than expected. A thinking mind with an intact heart is thus unlikely to act rashly out of a misconstrued sense of self-interest. A psychopath is almost completely incapable of understanding another human being. It is not just another mode if consciousness - it's a disease. These people are certainly not content - that explains their extremely immoral behavior. One would expect indifference only, not deliberately harming and betraying people they should actually be looking out for.

    2. There is no scientific or psychological consensus on the difference between these two terms.

"The more self-aware you are the less sociopathic you are"?

^This is completely biased nonsense based on your opinion of what sociopathy constitutes- which, again- is based upon a subjective "revelation" thay you claim, as opposed to any credible evidence.

To wit, I am quite self-aware- and it doesn't diminish or augment my sociopathic *traits*. It has, however, influenced my *actions*- and these are ultimately what count.

    3. 'The more self aware you are, the less sociopathic you are. When your true self - the thinking and reflecting YOU - is in charge than you're okay.'

This may be true if everyone in the world were wired the same, which is the folly in your argument. It's scientifically proven that sociopaths and psychopaths have different brain responses than 'normal' people. I am quite self aware and as the last response said, it influences my actions. In fact, if I let my thinking and reflecting inner being be in charge, I would be a far nastier and viler person. Being self aware of my traits and the damage I could do to other people has helped me not act in such a way.

  5. The psychopath understands superficially. He sees people smile and others appreciating it so he mimicks the act of smiling without ever realizing what a smile is and why people REALLY give them. That's not his fault if his psychopathy was inherited or imposed. HOWEVER, it is nothing but his own undue pride which prevents him from considering "I'm missing something here and I should learn and not assume that everyone is deceiving others." They first assume everyone is like them and "acting." They obviously never think "Why are these acts even necessary?" Eventually they realize that most people are actually different, they don't "act" but genuinely smile. It's his undue pride which now tells him "you're better than them, use this against them." He could've just as easily used his "rational" mind to understand what exactly people do and behave accordingly. No no, normal, ethical and good is for the ignorant masses - that's psychopathy. Nothing mysterious.

  6. Yet more unscientific, unsubstantiated opining on the subject based upon your personal anecdotal experiences.

You say that all psychopaths deceive, use and discard. This is the case for some sociopaths, just as it is for some empaths.

The PCL-R is the "gold standard" for evaluating psychopathy. It is not perfect, but it is the best tool psychologists have to ode to the condition. Let's examine what IT states, shall we?

The twenty traits assessed by the PCL-R score are:

    • glib and superficial charm
    • grandiose (exaggeratedly high) estimation of self
    • need for stimulation
    • pathological lying
    • cunning and manipulativeness
    • lack of remorse or guilt
    • shallow affect (superficial emotional responsiveness)
    • callousness and lack of empathy
    • parasitic lifestyle
    • poor behavioral controls
    • sexual promiscuity
    • early behavior problems
    • lack of realistic long-term goals
    • impulsivity
    • irresponsibility
    • failure to accept responsibility for own actions
    • many short-term marital relationships
    • juvenile delinquency
    • revocation of conditional release
    • criminal versatility

    I don't know about you, but I don't see "is a devil-worshipping minion" in that list. :P

Nor do I see anything about how a psychopath necessarily deliberately harms others in their actions.

I consider myself a subclinical psychopath, according to that list. I meet a lot of those criteria- but not all of them. In addition, since becoming self-aware, and actively seeking to apply my faith in certain areas, I have become better equipped to regulate certain behaviors.

I still tend to irresponsibility, but I compensate by delegating the stuff I normally flake off with regard to. Nevertheless, there are areas in my life that remain in disarray. :P

I still tend to impulsivity, but I am aware of this being a potential weakness so I try to channel in areas that are not detrimental to my work and family. But sometimes, I mess up and say the wrong thing at the wrong time.

I have a chronic stimulation seeking problem, but I try to alleviate in in ways that mitigate harm done to myself and others. I play here, and in the bedroom- and engage in extreme sports- often as high as a fucking kite! :D

Reckless? Perhaps a bit... But worth the risk.

So you see Jonaid, you are not an authority on the subject. Your judgments are erroneous and subjective, and your demonizing crusade is based upon your need to address the sociopaths who purportedly wronged you. And in the process, you are alienating some very interesting people who come here to contribute their thoughts and opinions on the matter: Not to be preached to by a fire and brimstone hurtling "minion-slayer".

You are tedious and ignorant. This is a particularly bothersome combination. We have told you to stop... Bur you continue.

So I will ask you, as North has, several times: "What do you hope to accomplish here"? Because your stated goals are at odds with the self-righteous, unscientific nonsense that you ramble on about in your irritating, pseudo-authoritative manner.

Could I possibly spell it out for you any more clearly?

  7. So... Now that we have established that the definition you provide is at odds with the general psychological and scientific consensus regarding the nature of this condition- what are we left with?

Your "special revelation" from God. And yet- let us examine what fruit this "special revelation of yours has birthed here.

    - You have alienated thoughtful posters to the point of one person explicitly leaving on your account because of your persistent demonization of sociopaths and psychopaths.

    - You have been told repeatedly by several posters that your proselytizing efforts are not appreciated, yet you persist in them.

-You have lied outright concerning the things you have said about psychopaths- both generally and specifically (I.E: "But I didn't call them demons... You MINION") LOL

    - You have insisted that your understanding is the correct one in spite of being presented with evidence to the contrary.

In the same way, you think you understand Islam and seek to force it down everyone's throats, because you think it has helped you. But you literally demonize those like me, who say: "But history shows that your false prophet was a tyrant." "The words of the Qur'an constitute hate speech" and "There is no possible contextual justification for beheadings, crucifixion and legislated misogyny."

I swear at you, and call your prophet exactly what the evidence shows him to be- but you construe that as evidence of my gross immorality and devil-worshipping.

    Talk about poor judgment.

Your persistent mischaracterization and demonization of those who believe differently from you make you ripe for radicalization. And this devaluing and vilification of individuals who refuse to submit to the legalistic theocracy is the M.O. Of Islam. What a match made in hell. :P

  8. Pyschology is a materialist attempt to study what is inherently immaterial: the human soul. They have NO CLUE where thoughts come from, where emotions come from, where ethics & morals come from, where love and hate come from etc etc. Those who study the brain (neuroscientists, psychologists, psychiatrists etc) merely observe chemical reactions that are occuring when a particular phenomenon is ALREADY OCCURRING. Evolutionary biologists do the exact same thing except they do it from an evolutionary vantage point so they GUESS such things as: people developed empathy because without it solidarity and cooperation were not possible and humanity would never have survived. Why the hell would "nature" care to ensure our survival? Randomness sure does like us a lot.

Notice the FLAW - the FALSE IMPRESSION OF EVIDENCE - that is given. The empirical evidence ONLY shows how certain neurons are firing when a person experiences XYZ situation. NO ONE - religious or irreligious - denies this evidence when confronted with it. The evolutionary biologists have evidence for the common origins & chronology of all life on this planet. They DO NOT have a shread of evidence for WHY or HOW it evolves a particular way as opposed to another. "Natural Selection" is not evidence based - it is GUESS WORK done by biologists examining the evidence for common origins. Guess work reflects the mindset of the one doing the guessing. A believer would say God is the "Natural Selector" whereas an atheist biologist would say "it's nature, random mutations in a nonrandom manner over billions of years." They don't even have a clue HOW it started it the first place.

The evidence presented by scientific inquiry is real. However, WHAT exactly the whole system is or means is NOT "evidence" based. It is mere conjecture which is too often misconstrued as "science" because the same people who did the experiments utter it. They don't have the humility or the sincerity (most) to say: here is what we have proof for and here is what I think MIGHT be the possiblity but is NOT scientific in any way.

Here's a simple analogy: Imagine some intelligent chimps came across this blog and thought "I wonder where all these writings are coming from on the screen"? Some of them, the "stupid ones," because they can't "prove it" say: well obviously this blog is some sort of a network and there are some entities somewhere that are contributing the writings to it. The "intelligent" and "rational" chimps say these guys have no evidence except what they've been told by ancient chimps. No we did a thorough examination and we realized that this keyboard has these things called "buttons" and when you press a bunch of them these "words" come out and then you use this arrow thing and click and there it is: a post. No mystery. The "stupid chimps" implore: how come the buttons always seem to result in actual words we understand? "Intelligent chimps" respond: well, since there are an infinity of keyboards (don't ask me how I know) and they're an infinity of randomly pressed buttons, of course SOME will end up with entire conversations worth of coherent posts. We just happen to be viewing one such screen.

This is just ONE TINY evidence against the mass of pseudo science and nonsense we're being bombarded with nowadays.

    ReplyDelete
  9. In my blog analogy above:

The scientific evidence of how a keyboard has buttons which pressed form words and using a mouse one can post on the screen etc etc is all REAL EVIDENCE. However, it does NOT mean that you have answered the question: "what is this blog?" "why does this blog exist?" "where did this blog come from?" etc etc

Psychopathy is no different. Ignorant "scientists" examine psychopathic behavior AFTER it is already underway, they list the "symptoms," put them together in their holy book - The DSM - and say "if you see someone doing XYZ, he's a psychopath." Well geez thanks Doc for that fancy word to pin on that asshole I knew. You were supposed to find out WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM? WHY IS HE LIKE THIS? HOW DO I FIX HIM?

Think hard people it's VERY simple and obvious. The reason why it doesn't appear as such is because the vast majority of people have been deluded. Trust your gut - your heart. It's right.

"Idiot": Umm it looks like his neurons fire just fine when he wants them to fire just fine. In fact a study even showed that psychos do feel empathy but they can turn it on / off at will.

Doc: Psychopathy just randomly exists in 4% of the population.

  10. As to "where did the blog-maker come from?"

    1) It is irrelevant to the original mystery of the blog posts itself.
    2) Whether or not we will ever find out doesn't mean that actual people weren't posting on the blog. Only a clown would assume "well, since we don't know where or why people post here, therefore it is safe to assume that no one is actually posting but its an infinity of unobserved keyboards being pressed randomly to form words."

Wouldn't freezing that person out totally be far more insulting and discouraging than engaging him or her in an argument that makes this totally hypothetical person the centre of attention, which is exactly what he – or she – wants? THINK about what you believe, Jonaid. Do you really think an "all-merciful" God would commands His followers to murder, dismember and/or crucify people who "make mischief" in the land, which is defined as opposing Shariah?

How do you reconcile such verses with your conception of a loving God?

You know I'm a psychopath, Jonaid. You have called me a devil-worshipper and a minion.

Do you really think I deserve to be crucified, murdered, and/or dismembered, then discarded, and thrown into hell for eternity?

Do you think you are demonstrating your vast new-found empathy in apologizing for these verses, which, as you have claimed in your own words- are reserved for people like me?
      :(

      If so, why?

Because I stated that 9 year old little Aisha was the innocent victim of a man who raped and abused her in the name of a "loving God"?

Because I stated that I think your tyrannical prophet was a murderous warmonger - when he did, in fact, kill people and tyrannize them with terror far and wide to conquer nations for Allah?

Because I refuse to find a context in which it is either Godly or appropriate to behead people?

Because I refuse to dance a little jig and temper my words so as to avoid offending you by insulting your prophet?

That makes me a "minion" and a devil-worshipper?

      Really?

In both cases the pious (Newton and Wallace) were the original founders but the God-less ended up taking far more credit than they deserved.

I agree. The more self-aware I become the better I can regulate my actions – or reactions – but in a way I become more sociopathic. I may behave in a way that pleases the people around me more but in my mind I indulge in great sociopathic fantasies. I don't believe my thoughts can harm anyone so I suppose I become a better functioning sociopath. I've been trying to figure out if I'm sociopathic by neurology or because I became that way. But the more self-aware I become the more I realize that the way I wish to live is quite anti-social in a way. I don't feel like I need other people. I'm just not attached to anyone. I enjoy the company of some but I'm quite happy to live my life in a way I didn't realize before I became more self-aware.

  18. I relate to this very much. One thing I noticed this year was my "sociopathic fantasies" - which were rare in the past (depending on what qualifies as "sociopathic") - increased drastically when I started to lose my empathy. It was getting to the point where half the time I was extremely excited at the prospect of obtaining what I thought & felt was liberation and immense power. I would think about everything I've lost because I cared too much and thought "damn if I was that good with my empathy I'm going to be a god now." The other half of the time I felt intense fear, guilt, shame and regret for failing myself, for even considering compromises my principles and becoming what I so (perhaps too judgmentally) vehemently criticize. This dilemma resulted in mood swings on an almost daily basis. It's also why I was desperate for some empathy from the people that hurt me - I didn't believe in God and needed them to revive my empathy by showing me some. I really begged - very humiliating. On the other end I really tried to force my mind to accept the "new and powerful" me but for reasons beyond my control it would never last more than 2/3 days.

In the end something extraordinary occurred and not only was I "cured" instantly of my depression and mood swings but I got so many answers to life-long mysteries and peace of mind that I can honestly say I'm HAPPY I went thru everything I did in life. Of course it's easier said after its over but the point is if I were forced today to choose between a past that was far more comfortable or the one I lived, I'd have to choose the latter.

  19. I think about the people that hurt me now and think "I was boiling over only a few months ago thinking about how evil they are" but now I really mostly just pity them and pray and hope they'll not stay stuck in the hell-hole they've gotten themselves into. I avoid them altogether because I don't think they'll listen to me anyway (especially after how much I've implored them already) and more importantly I know only God can guide them. I can do everything I want but I cannot penetrate their heart if God doesn't will it. Again that's why I say: call to Him in humility and prostration he'll give you what you never thought about. Don't let fear of humiliation or rejection or superstition etc prevent you. There's nothing to lose by doing so and a treasure-trove to gain. Be smart.

  20. And for those of you who may fear "the other side" trust me there is nothing to fear. The envious coward can only harm you if you let him by fearing him and distancing yourself from God - in beliefs but more importantly in actions.

  21. Jonaid: It sounds to me like your revelation was the opposite of mine. I realized that my thoughts are private and therefore harmless. It really doesn't matter what I think, which makes it so enjoyable.

I think people often judge others based on the way they think. Anyone can learn to act in a way that doesn't harm others – myself included – but it's just silly to feel anger or sadness or betrayal when someone doesn't think the way you want them to think. (For example "I feel so hurt when you don't love me. or 'I think you're a monster when you don't feel empathy.")

Religion in my opinion is very much based on thought patterns. Yes, people (including you) have the freedom to choose to think whatever they want but – correct me if I'm wrong – it sounds to me like your 'transformation' happened after you "felt intense fear, guilt, shame and regret for failing yourself", which to me seems like perhaps you took your own thoughts seriously.

It almost sounds to me like you swapped one way of thinking into another way of thinking. First the feelings of fear etc. were taking over and then you let the feeling of 'being united with god' or whatever you wish to call it, take over.

I on the other hand realized that thoughts are just thoughts. I don't feel fear towards my own thoughts because thoughts do not represent reality. They don't need to be altered. I do not need to change my thoughts. Ever.

Do you see what I mean?

"I was boiling over only a few months ago thinking about how evil they are but now I really mostly just pity them and pray and hope they'll not stay stuck in the hell-hole they've gotten themselves into."

This to me implies that you replaced a set of thoughts with something else but you're still letting your THOUGHTS rule.

Let me offer you an alternative if just consider this for a moment:

Your thoughts are not reality but just thoughts that come and go. Therefore they needn't be taken seriously.

There will never be a moment when you can control your thoughts – none of us can – but if you understand that it doesn't matter because thoughts are just thoughts then you're truly liberated for good.

    How's that?

Well my apologies for coming across harsh but how can I possibly respond in any other way to this desperately foolish attempt at sophistry. Umm anyone else want to raise their hand and say they made a huge leap in life by realizing their thoughts are private. All deliberate actions begin as thoughts - yes thoughts are in it of themselves harmless but they open the door for actual harm. Besides you didn't understand what I was saying. If it wasn't clear I meant that started to ENJOY sick and evil fantasies half the time - for the first time in my life after I lost my empathy.

Your assumptions about my experience are all completely off. I can't bother correcting I think I was straight forward. If you have any particular question by all means ask otherwise keep telling yourself some illogical nonsense about you think I think.

    1. I'm probably banging my head against a wall here but never mind.

First of all: I wasn't desperately attempting any sophistry. I'm just trying to make you see what I see.

"Umm anyone else want to raise their hand and say they made a huge leap in life by realizing their thoughts are private."

Ummm actually that's not where the huge leap came from but from realizing that it doesn't matter what thoughts cross my mind because thoughts are just thoughts.

Because you wrote "I would think about everything I've lost because I cared too much and thought "damn if I was that good with my empathy I'm going to be a god now." The other half of the time I felt intense fear, guilt, shame and regret" I figured you might be able to understand that your fear was pointless because you were scared of your own thoughts.

"All deliberate actions begin as thoughts - yes thoughts are in it of themselves harmless but they open the door for actual harm."

Except reactions (in case there's no time to think). Yet not all thoughts result in actions UNLESS you believe that thoughts are automatically followed by actions. I don't.

I'm also not an animal. I can control my own actions. Sometimes I just might take a risk but it's always a conscious decision.

"If it wasn't clear I meant that started to ENJOY sick and evil fantasies half the time"

OK. Well, I enjoy my fantasies too but it doesn't mean that I would act them out. I also understand the difference between thoughts/fantasies and reality.

No need to apologize Jonaid. You haven't hurt me.

It's gradual. First you just think of harmless things. Then you indulge yourself in God knows what. Then it must get more sadistic. Still no harm since no action was taken. But who's going to deny that you are MORE LIKELY to take action IF the opportunity arose than you were had you never day dreamed some evil, sadistic things.

Please note I'm not saying you day dream evil, sadistic things. It's an example.

The other half of the time I felt intense fear, guilt, shame and regret" I figured you might be able to understand that your fear was pointless because you were scared of your own thoughts."

Let me delineate: My fear was based on the foreseeable outcome of becoming sociopathic. Yes I had an innate bias (inherited most likely) against injustice, deception, lying, etc etc. However, I always faced the world in a pragmatic manner. As an atheist, it made no sense to be always 100% honest if it will end up making you and loved ones lose so much without any actual wrong on your part. So my philosophy was: be honest always, fair always, just always, EXCEPT when you have ample evidence (objective - defensible - NOT subjective) to warrant anything else. That's why sociopaths who betrayed me got away with it. I loved them all and never thought (especially with the family) that they could ever do what they ever doing. Nonetheless, I learned one thing from all of them: how their minds crippled because of their sociopathy.

I didn't believe in the supernatural so I could not understand how normal, rational, relatively intelligent people could do the stupidest things, make the dumbest mistakes of judgement, lose again and again, and yet boast in pride. What have you gained? You lost everything but you're happy because you made your own family, friend, trusted acquaintance etc etc lose out too? That is your victory? If you had not been arrogant and cooperated, we ALL would have been far better off. I lost along with them but only because I LET THEM DESTROY EVERYTHING. Why? Because I never assumed that they could have any agenda other than what is apparent. If its family, surely we all care about the family first and anything else comes after. I was WRONG. Business? Surely the owners care about the business first and everything else after. I was WRONG. Each and every time they misjudged me, my overlooking their lies & mistakes made them think I was stupid and carry on more and more. ALL of them behaved in this way and each one of them lost everything. Yet they boast and deny what is obvious.

So, I FEARED turning into some mindless creep who's only purpose is to feed his own ego at the expense of others. When he's involved in a project, he thinks "what do I gain" and ONLY that. When he's in busines, he thinks "what's my position" instead of "how do we make the most out of this"? When he's with family he thinks "how can I outdo him and not be number 2" when HIM is his own family and NOT competing with him. WORST thing I noticed about ALL of them: they started hating me - or certainly got annoyed with me and accused me of a whole host of things without any evidence - because I was as honest and straightforward as I could be. Just because you are wrong in your assessment does not mean I'm narcissistic. If THEY didn't understand the logic of my argument, they accused ME of doing what THEY were doing: not listening and just arguing. How do I know it was them and not me doing that? A simple example:

We have a 10 minute conversation about something. They talk for 9 minutes and I for 1 minute. Everytime I insist on continuing they say "you have to let me finish" and carry on addressing anything BUT what I had said. When all is done, they say "you don't listen" and then end the talk. EVERYTIME.

SO yes, I was afraid of turning into a mindless, self-obsessed, semi-rational minion who only lives to eat, screw and seek a false sense of "power." What power? I could croak at any moment and I will sell my integrity, ruin people and deceive for "power"?

    Hope that helped.

  25. I'm much, much, much more happier knowing that my mind is sane, my conscience is clear, and I have nothing to fear. The opposite of that should arouse fear at the very least, disgust if you're an ethical person, and a yearning for death if you're like me: a person who values integrity and truth above all else.

  26. That is not to say that I hate or will judge other people (individuals, not groups in generic terms - I will not normally judge or even mistreat a "psychopath" if I come across one without cause but I will say psycopathy is an evil madness). The irony of my life: the people I've loved the most were people who's actual "world view" is most repulsive to me.

  27. Important thing I forgot to add:

Thoughts are dangerous if the intent to do what is imagined is there when / if possible. They start off as innocent mind adventures which get more and more sadistic and evil. Yes they're still thoughts but you've gone so far ahead in your imagination that actually DOING just one quarter of what you think would not seem too bad - if you had the opportunity.

You know I'm a psychopath. You have called me a minion, and a devil-worshipper. You said that Mohammed's ordinance to murder, crucify and/or dismember mischief-makers were written to rid the world of people like me.

So I ask you again: do you think I deserve to be dismembered, murdered and/or beheaded, as your prophet (upon whom there was never any peace) commands?

You persist in referring to me as a "he", but I have told you that I am a woman... The president of a charitable non-profit. I was telling the truth, and I can prove it, because I related those things about myself long before you started coming here.

And yet, it is as though you must INSIST to yourself that I am lying, because I don't fit into any of the boxes your mind INSISTS upon stuffing me in.

But here I am- very distinctly female- still calling you on you shit. :)

Could it be that your definition of the TRUE nature of "psychopathy" is wrong, because it is based upon your own personal negative experiences, that you are now attempting to foist upon everyone else, just as we've been telling you all along?

Could it be that you are wrong about this "divine revelation", too- just as you are mistaken concerning the TRUE nature of the OTHER "divine revelation" to which you cling- Islam?

If your arguments were so much better, why do you not have the fortitude to address mine directly, without resorting to avoidance and deflection?

Are you too arrogant to admit that you're wrong?

All of those negative personal experiences you had with sociopaths do not allow you to *accurately* paint us all with the same broad strokes.

If a sociopath / psychopath genuinely admitted (meaning their admission is not a tactic) their wrongdoing and apologize, I'd forgive almost anything (less the obvious...abuse of my loved ones etc) even when I was an atheist. Now that I believe in God I'd happily do it because I know it would help the psychopath / sociopath a lot more than it would help me to be releaved of their guilty conscience - even if it is buried deep down it's there.

Unfortunately their pride overtakes their reason so it's rare to see such admissions and changes.

    6. And yes that is the ISLAMIC position as well. The spirit of sharia (Islamic law) is: minimize publicity of sin. Put into severe punishments for certain crimes IF they're commited openly in public but make it very difficult to prove guilt (i.e. 4 witnesses are needed to prove adultury). Also, the severity of the punishment varies with the overall condition of the society. For example: the Quran says to cut off the hands of a theif. Firstly, this ONLY applies to major robbery, not petty theft. Second, it ONLY applies when 1) society is overall stable, moral and wealth is distributed to the needy so there's no NEED for anyone to possibly steal (i.e. hunger). Only psychopathic muslims like ISIS caricature the religion and do what they do.

Hope that clears up some misunderstandings.

  30. One way or another, Jonaid's been through a lot, and fairly recently. I suspect this prolific output is more the law of equal and opposite reaction at work, which seems to apply so often in human (emotional) interaction. People have to work impacts out of their system. He's addressing that need here because here he can address it directly - address the issue that effected him directly. When something like this has effected you in a powerful way, and often very condensed way - upheaval and discoveries often come a bit too thick and fast - the need to tackle the issue that's upended you is compelling, but there is often not anyone close to hand with similar interest, let alone experience. I think his discussing this here is working this experience out of his system; I think he is off-loading more than crusading, and think it'll do him a service; he needed to wear this energy out and get all these ideas out somehow, and I think he'll relax a lot when he's done so. I wish him well.

  33. Jonaid, it seems like you’ve been traumatized and are not entirely healed. Consequently you harbor a desire of vengeance, and you want others to feel the harm that’s been done to you because you can’t stand that others are unscathed while you’re suffering, which is sadistic in itself. Deep down, you would feel elated to be in the shoes of the assailant instead of the victim, and inflict pain on those you think deserve it, which makes you precisely the monstrous minion you paint out others to be.

It would be wiser to address the root of your emotional pain and learn from your mistakes. Preferably away from this blog as you might end up retraumatized, and your empathy not bent, but broken beyond repair.

    1. I appreciate your concern if it's genuous. As I've stated before I assure you I'm happier than I've ever been in my entire life and am content. If you choose to read this and interpret it in the exact opposite of what I actually said - well then I can't say anything else.

      Thank you.

  34. He just needs to burn off a lot of energy and frustration that has nowhere else to go - it wants to be spent in this way and that can be a tough drive to escape / usefully redirect - and he's doing it in a relatively civilised way; infuriating and insulting to some, but essentially harmless (sticks & stones, etc) and with a good deal more politeness than could be the case.

  39. For the past 5 months, I have tried 3 to 4 different spell caster, but none was able to help me, they rejected me for no reason. Because of the nature of my case, I kept trying until I met Dr. Wakina through: dr.wakinalovetemple@gmail.com to see if he is going reject me like others. He accepted to help me rebuild my broken home and restore peace to my family. I and my boyfriend were always fighting and quarreling in front of our kid, about the lack of time he spends with me, he told me he was DONE with the relationship, he warned me to leave him alone and never search for him. We have been through so many things, and I felt like we been trying too hard to let go now.
After seeing wonderful reviews about Dr. Wakina and also lucky to know him as a person, I regretted ever wasting my time when the love spell was finally cast and my boyfriend came back home, begging for forgiveness. Am one of the happiest woman on earth, it couldn’t have been possible without the help of Dr. Wakina’s Love Temple through: dr.wakinalovetemple@gmail.com

He is living away near his work and her and refuses to talk to me or to come home . I am devastated and am finding it hard to cope . I wish I did not love him and that I could move on but I can't . I don't know how to stop feeling like this I wish I didn't as its eating me away and I m starting to feel ill. I have degraded myself begging him to come home all to no avail.
